Works great
100% would recommend. Works great. I primarily fish for catfish and this works perfectly for storing and removing them from the basket. Doesn't damage their skin like wire baskets

Worth it! But definitely know your state's laws on floating fish baskets!
The Dovesun 12 Gallon Floating Fish Basket for Live Caught Fish is a a basket that collapses and is easy to store. It has a foam fluorescent green (or orange) foam ring for floating and durability and a quick pull drawstring closure with a 54 inch rope. This 12 gallon fish basket is 13.8 inch in width and 18.9 inch in height (with the strap held up then it's 33.5 inch but that shouldn't be included). So, what is this used for? For those that don't have an aerator or not planning to eat the fish (if you were to take home to eat, you would cut the gill/artery to let the fish bleed out in water) or keep them alive in a fish basket until you are ready to go home. But before you purchase this, it's important to check your state's laws in regards to fish baskets. For example, in California (since California tends to be stricter than most states for fishing), floating fish baskets and stringers are generally allowed for holding sport fish in California fresh and ocean waters, provided your catch complies with standard bag, possession, and size limits. Possession Limits - Any fish in a floating basket count toward your daily bag and possession limits. Culling/Release: If you were to release a fish to later upgrade to a larger fish is illegal. In other words, once you catch it and put it in your fishing bag, it automatically counts. As California has laws on certain fish and the limit you can catch. And yes, Department of Fish and Game will come by and look at your fish and count. And also to make sure there is no invasive species that were caught. Can't be used as a trap - In California, fish nets are considered illegal almost everywhere (specifically inland rivers, streams, lakes and reservoirs), certain oceans areas and public piers are allowed but there are rules such as small dip net sizes for crab fishing or Hawaiian-style throw nets in certain areas. Floating Fish Baskets are not for trapping, as for pole nets used for landing, these are not for trapping. So, why use a floating fish basket? Well, some anglers don't like to use stringers to keep a fish alive as they don't want to puncture their lips or gills. Some find it convenient to have than lug around a big ice cooler and since this is collapsible, it makes things easier to carry around. Granted, if you catch a lot of fish, you're going to have to lift it but it's not so heavy without the water and ice, so it's not too bad. But overall, the Dovesun 12 Gallon Floating Fish Basket for Live Caught Fish is definitely worth it, but definitely check your state's laws when it comes to floating fish baskets.

Great size and much easier than hauling a bulky container
This is a really useful addition to my fishing gear. I got the orange 12-gallon version, and I was surprised by how much room it has once fully opened, while still being lightweight and easy to carry. The basket is about 13.8 inches wide and 18.9 inches deep, so it offers plenty of usable space inside. The full height is about 33.5 inches when measured to the top of the carrying straps. It also comes with a 54-inch rope, which gives you plenty of length to secure it alongside a kayak, boat, dock, or shoreline. I especially like the bright orange floating ring because it's very easy to spot on the water. The square shape and aluminum bottom frame help it hold its form instead of collapsing in on itself, and the mesh allows water to continuously flow through the basket. The drawstring top is another nice feature because you can close the opening without having to deal with a complicated lid. When you're finished, it collapses down surprisingly flat, which is a big advantage for storage and transportation. At only around 9โ10 ounces, it adds practically no noticeable weight to my fishing equipment. I think the capacity, collapsible design, long tether rope, floating frame, and reinforced bottom make this a very practical piece of fishing gear. It gives me plenty of room without taking up a ton of space when I'm not using it.

In water net for small fish
Nice fish bag for small fish like bluegill, perch, or crappies. Cant be used for anything like a large mouth bass, going to need a cooler for those. The net is good quality, similar to my fishing net. Easily compresses down and fits in any bag with a small footprint. Can be used dockside but its more or less made to be used on a fishing boat to hang off the side.

This is a fishing essential!!
Quality of the netting and float is amazing!! Stays put while fishing and its much easier than a stringer. Keeps fish alive all morning. This makes me happy because i do release them if i catch a better one. Amazing value for the price. Great gift for an angler. I am glad its big because the fish can get chunky. Especially in the lakes. Great product. No complaints here at all!!
