Rottweiler-proof
I was skeptical of yet another “chew proof” bed, but so far it’s lived up to the hype. I have a 120 lb rottie who hates beds. He doesn’t just destroy them, he annihilates them with manic glee and then pees on their ashes. Not kidding. He has an ongoing grudge match with dog beds, brooms, and electric Christmas trees, and he only truly believes he has defeated them once he has released upon them the sweet golden stream of victory. Dogs are gross. That being said, he has yet to so much as dent his Kuranda bed. I’ve caught him doing the doggy-side-mouth-tongue-everywhere-chewy thing to his bed a few times, and he just isn’t having any luck. It’s been a little over a year since I purchased this bed on Amazon, and even if he managed to destroy it tomorrow, I’d still be satisfied, because buying a new bed only once a year is a drastic improvement on buying a couple every month. Kuranda’s customer service was great, too. They ran out of the color I ordered right after I ordered it, and immediately sent me an email with a list of other colors they had available. They were quick to acknowledge my response, and the bed was shipped promptly. This was a great buy.

Don’t Waste Your Money On Anything Else.
Just what we needed! Our dogs have chewed through every bed we purchased, including a Carhart outdoor canvas bed. We weren’t sure if this one would be soft enough, durable enough, or fit inside the kennels. It has now been a couple of months and the beds are PERFECT. We did not attach the legs to preserve the height inside the kennels, but the part the legs would go into actually act as legs to keep the bed a couple of inches off the floor. They broke in smooth and soft, and they haven’t been able to chew or ruin them!!!! I wish we had found this bed first. They fit like a glove in the 27” x 42” kennel. We purchased the 40” x 25”.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!
I raise Australian Shepherds so these beds endure LITTERS of puppies with very sharp teeth and toenails. Litters of puppies can be very destructive beginning at about 6 weeks of age shredding and tearing up anything they can get a hold of. We have been using the coolaroo pet bed but the covers on those beds only last about a week with a litter of puppies and they have the cot piece shredded into a billion pieces and after taking the screws out once or twice to replace the cover the screws get stripped and are no longer usable. The Kuranda beds are made of tire strength material and are VERY VERY durable so what we have been spending on replacement covers for the coolaroo bed we will save very quickly. The only problem with the Kuranda bed was the assembly part. My husband is a diesel mechanic and he needed several different power tools to assemble this bed. The most challenging part was corners #3 and #4. He had to use bolts that were 1" longer than the bolts that came with the bed then tighten them up to bring the upper and lower metal corner pieces together several times by tightening one bolt then the other then loosening the first bolt then the other then tighten each again. There is no question about the durability of this product but assembly could be made easier with bolts that are simply 1" longer to bring the 2 corner pieces together better. The average person with no assembly experience, and one that doesn't own any power tools, is not going to be able to assemble this product easily.

Both are wonderful but DESTRUCTOS
Our feelings are mixed. We have two eight month old puppies - a German Shephard and an English Springer Spaniel. Both are wonderful but DESTRUCTOS. They have destroyed their beds, almost all toys, blankets, etc. More than destructing.... eating whatever they can. They were sleeping on the trays of their crates until we found this bed. At least they finally have something a little more comfortable to sleep on. I am sorry to say that our rating is between a three and a four. I was cleaning them the other day and found a +2 inch slit in one of the beds. We got out the Gorilla Tape to repair it and will be watching to see if it gets any worse.

Wish I bought them first
After going thru 2 cheap beds($40&$80) and 2 expensive beds($150&$300) and multiply that by 2 dogs. I wish I bought these first. I have 2 blue nose pit bulls and they ate every previous bed they had. It did take a couple days for them to try them. They were both very skeptical to even step on them. A few treats left on there helped them get over their fear. They sleep on them every day and night and are very heavy duty

Great bed. Doesn't block our heat vent.
I got the Kuranda All-Aluminum Chewproof Bed because I foster dogs and sometimes the dogs I foster are big chewers. This bed is nice and solid, and there's no place a dog can sink his teeth into it. I ordered the XXL, 50" x 36" (in smoke) because I thought that would be a better size if 2 dogs wanted to use it at the same time. I also figured that the aluminum edges would account for about 4" of the length and width so larger sounded better for my two 50 - 70 pound dogs. However, the 50" x 36" size proves to be an awkward size for the places I intended to use the bed (my fault) so I'm exchanging it for the XL in burgundy. I plan at this time to use the Kuranda Bed outdoors so the dog(s) have a comfortable place to lie if they want to when they're outside. However, I'm also going to try it out as an indoor bed, too, with a cushion on top. Because it's raised, I can put the Kuranda Dog Bed in the corner of our family room without it blocking our heat vent--another advantage of the Kuranda Bed.

Very comfortable, durable, and well made large bed.
This bed has proved great for our American Mastiff (155lbs) as an outdoor bed. It provides him great off-the-ground support and he loves to take long naps in it. The frame is very strong, but light, so it is easy to move. We have had this over 2 years now and still looks almost new - it cleans off very easily with a hose and has not rusted at all. The vinyl is very sturdy and strong as well, with the right amount of give for comfort. I would have concerns about leaving this out in the sun as I think it would get very hot (we live in TX), but we have it underneath a covered patio, so not an issue for us.

Well made!
Well made solid bed! Unfortunately, my dog prefers his old foam bed and will only lie on the kuranda if I tell him to. It's odd because he slept on this type of bed before we adopted him. I have ordered a pad for it hoping my dog will like it better.
