“Ocean Notes” 12 Hole Sweet Potato Ocarina Graceful Shape Pottery Ocarina in Alto C (Sea Rose)

Super pretty, really cute… Sounds great. My only negative is I don’t like the shape. I think it’s because I’m used to flutes of various sizes, but not many shapes I know that sounds weird but for me the difficulty is that it’s slightly awkward for me. It came really well packaged very cute not damaged. The quality is superb and it’s completely in tune. I don’t know about durability I can’t imagine I would take a porcelain. Instrument and purposely slam it on the ground, but I would say that if it dropped on accident, it probably wouldn’t break unless you were outside on concrete.

Absolutely beautiful orcarina. As listed, it is an alto c. It sounds amazing, the clay glaze on it is stunning. Very happy with my purchase!

It looks very nice but when you get to the higher notes, it just sounds like a whistle. I honestly recommend getting a plastic ocarina first.

I bought a total of four ocarinas, as I had played them in the past and rediscovered the joy of them and also the need for one to help as a pitch pipe for my voice to sing in different keys. Of all the four I bought, including a $100 one, this one is the best. It is the best in tune, the easiest to place fingers, it produces the best sound, including the higher notes that were significantly harder on the higher priced ones. I’m no expert by any means, but I come from a long line of professional musicians who make their living by playing music, and I play by ear as well as others do by sheet music. For the price, this is an excellent ocarina. I highly recommend it for the price. And it is also pretty. That’s the icing.

I have not owned an ocarina nor played one. (But I had played a flute long ago since an ocarina is still a wind instrument) I am a sound editor/designer, I bought this ocarina to make an oceanic call for an underwater creature. These were the sounds I was looking for, and the ocarina I got seemed well pitch but a few notes can be tricky as you have to angle yourself a certain way in playing it or adjust your breathing. Above all, this was worth my money, these are fine quality! ^^

I have an ocarina from a company who makes them for professional use and I picked up this one. I have to tell you. They sound alike. It is very well made and quite beautiful. Definitly worth it.

As a celtic tinwhistle player, I wanted a more hobbit-like sound option. So purchased both Awef Ocean Notes and Joy Wood Thrush. To compare after 1week, the Joy model is a bit easier to play (a little less air), more accurate notes, but a bit less ‘breathy’ sound. The Ocean Notes takes a little more practice to get a nice sound, is more airy, almost dreamy. Well made. I love them both !!!

My son was so excited to receive this ocarina for Christmas. It's a beautiful instrument in a nice case. Unfortunately, the one we received wasn't tuned properly. The sound was off on some notes. Seemed to be the worst with the 2 holes on the far right - if you're looking at the photo. Since he's intetested in learning to play the ocarina and not just have something nice to look at, he chose to return it. He's unsure if he wants to give this one another try or go with an STL. To give him time to decide and make sure I didn't miss the return window, I chose the refund option instead of asking for an exchange.
