Great Insights - Another masterpiece from Brett!
Our times are very unique indeed and especially in the context of today's dynamic environment, where frequent technology led innovations are disrupting the retail banking & payment industry like never before. In this background, many of our assumptions, predictions and analysis of this industry can quickly become outdated and is therefore necessary to constantly revisit them more often out of sheer necessity, so as to be on top of things quickly and steer one's organisation successfully.Brett's book therefore is very timely and can be used to vet one's strategy and fine tune as required based on the fresh data that he is presenting. I especially liked his approach of seeking inputs / data from the key players directly & presenting them in an interview format, thereby helping the readers to do their own assessment as well and in turn agree/disagree with Brett's interpretation and his views.Thomas MathewI

Good Read, BBut Misleading
I enjoyed the book, and it is something bankers should read, but keep in the proper context. There is no question technology is going to change how banking is done - and is a threat to community banks. Any thought, though, that start-up technology-based banks are going to be more than niche players is missing one major point - along with technological change comes the greater exposure to cyber-attacks. The big banks, for all their faults, are better able to withstand and pay for this problem, and at least one person interviewed in the book did note that all these changes play into the hands of the big banks. It is a good read, though, if you do not worry too much about who wins or loses, but what is coming. There is no question that technology is going to drastically change how banking is done, and this book is quite good on some of changes to expect.

A good sequel to Bank 2.0 and Bank 3.0
Interesting read on the changes in banking due to the disruption caused by Fintech. If you work with banks and/ or credit unions, this is a must read. The book provides plenty of insight on the current climate and future change due to the Fintech disruption. A good sequel to Bank 2.0 and Bank 3.0. I bought this for my sales teams so that they could be better prepared for conversations with the C-Suites at our credit union partners.

Great thinking on the changes in Banking
Banks will be broken down, stripped, reimagined and built again into a modern, tech savvy useful alternative to the stale experiences that exist today. It's a now thing - not a tomorrow thing. Great read.

Insightful and Inspiring!
Read it back-to-back! Brett King captures an insightful discussion with some of the brightest minds on the subject and paints a pretty good picture of what the future of the banking industry is bound to look like. A must-read for anyone wants to be a change leader in reshaping banking and payment services in the years ahead.

Interesting but a form of interviews does not make it too concise
Book for people interested in fintech. Some interesting case studies, but overall could be half the size if it was a typical book not collections of interviews with introductions and summaries. I would expect more for this price of a book. Case studies like mBank were missing. Mentioned American banks are really not that innovative in comparison to what you can see e.g. In Poland

Good reading!
Good reading to anyone looking for inspiration in ways to improve existing banking services and get a view on how those services are likely to evolve in the short and mid term driven by established players, neobanks, tech firms, or even the tech giants.

Breaking banks - from the mouths of the disruptors
Brett continues to push us out of our banking 'comfort zone' and this book builds on his previous thinking in Bank 2.0 and 3.0. What I like about Breaking Banks is that each area of banking is looked at and a point of view formed through short interviews with the 'disruptor leading lights' themselves. Changing behaviour evokes new norms, and once change takes hold there is no going back. A must read for any banker, industry follower or banking customer (thats nearly all of us)......Lets get disrupted.....

I am a follower of the books of Brett King (Bank2.0 and Bank3.0) that have just read his latest one “Breaking Banks".It is a work that addresses various topics such as the disruption of the concept of doing banking, digital banking, mobile (m-banking, m-P2P and m-commerce), social media, bitcoin and the role of the new market digital players (neo-banks).I strongly believe that both traditional financial institutions and the neo-banks will be complementary in the market place. Customers will also make their choices always looking to satisfy their needs and their life styling by suppliers of "doing banking" that facilitate them the best consumer experiences (simple, fast and safe).Allow me to give to Brett King my congratulations for the fantastic global view of the current and future banking sector provided through great interviews with the biggest world agents of today's change.I beg him not stopping his great work and keep sharing with us his experiences and knowledge about the important financial industry trends.I am already waiting for the next one book.
