Perfectly Plant Based
I feel very similar to “Prettynerd” and everything they said in their review. Once you’ve stopped eating meat for a certain amount of time (I’m at 16 years), or you were a kid like me who was creeped out by the texture of meat, you really do enjoy having great options for meat substitutions that have a comfortable consistency and flavor. BUT when they’re way too close to reminding you of the real thing, you don’t enjoy it. At all. You may even ask yourself multiple times “Are we sure this is plant based? Or am I eating cow?” However with a product like this vegan bacon by Sweet Earth (love them all around), there’s a flavor that has that childhood nostalgia, yet a texture that you would characterize as “perfectly plant based.” You know it’s not meat, yet it fits right into your recipe. I also find it easy to cook and eat within the 4 day timeline (I usually buy 2-3 packages/month when craving it). I’ll make some for breakfast/lunch and if I’m at the deadline, I cook the last few, throw ‘em in a ziplock and put them into the fridge for the next day. Great hot or cold. If I know I’m not going to have any need for a while, I keep the unopened ones in the freezer to save space. In summation: nostalgic flavor, perfect consistency/texture and fair price for my needs. In a word(s): Perfectly plant based (Grade: A+). I hope this helps anyone on the fence!

It isn't bacon, guys
It's not supposed to be bacon, but it is freaking delicious. Best enjoyed as part of a sandwich (plant-based BLT, breakfast egg & cheese, etc.), because the texture is underwhelming, it doesn't get crispy if you're cooking it right because it would dry out. The smoke flavor is lovely, it smells and tastes like barbecue sauce. My omnivorous friends and family regularly comment on how good it smells when it's cooking. But it tastes nothing like bacon, and it isn't supposed to -- the whole point is that it is a sub for that smokey element, it's not an imitation. Absolutely recommend trying it, cook in a skillet according to package directions and put it in your next bacon-less sandwich.

Definitely not bacon, but really tasty nonetheless
I've been vegan for fifteen years, so other than smelling bacon at friends' apartments, I've completely lost touch with that flavor profile. But even I know this product isn't a convincing imitation. The texture has a tofu quality to it, rather than a brittle crunch, and the flavor isn't really in the same ballpark.I don't really care, though. These are great for what they are, densely seasoned and addictive strips of protein that are quick and easy to cook in a pan. If they were a little cheaper, they might be a staple food in my fridge. As is, they're a great treat whenever I decide to purchase a package.

Tastes okay
Taste isn't anything to celebrate. The texture is also a bit strange and breaks apart easily. I'm glad I bought it to try it but I won't get it again.

Fantastic flavor
I've been eating this benevolent bacon for years and it is getting more difficult to find. It has a wonderful, smoky flavor, so be aware of this, it is seasoned (and delicious!!). I like to use it to make "egg blossoms", using this bacon to wrap around a muffin cup and then put veggies in the bottom, crack an egg in, and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake the muffin pan for 20 min, and you have a great breakfast, and the bacon bakes up around the egg wonderfully, and the seasoning flavors the entire egg cup.I also like to use this bacon on veggie sausage biscuits, it adds a great flavor. And over the years, while many vegetarian products have gotten extremely expensive, this product has seemed to stay consistently well priced. It is delicious, versatile, one of my favorite products that I love to use and add to whatever I'm cooking to give my meals a little something special (who doesn't love bacon)?

Not bacon! Not even close!
This is, at best, a barbeque flavored steak-um replacement. The strips do not hold up in a frying pan, they quickly fell apart like poorly processed meat. Nor did they ever crisp up as the packaging stated in the cooking instructions. When I tasted a piece, it was rubbery and unpleasant, again the consistency of a thicker, over-processed cheesesteak meat. Not at all close to what bacon should be. The flavor is straight up barbeque sauce, no question and not a particularly good one either. It will also stain anything it touches. So be careful, the sauce didn't come off my hands easily. Definitely not for me, but I could see it possibly being good in a sandwich.

Didn't really seem much like bacon at all, but still good
I grabbed this on a whim, out of curiosity one day at Whole Foods. Just to try something different. It was not bad. Honestly, it is not very "baconey". It didn't taste very much like bacon, but that might be because it is a hickory and sage flavor rather than plain, and the texture is pretty different.Despite that, it was fairly good. I definitely don't regret getting it, and might get it again. It crisps a lot better than I expected it too. I'm a crispy bacon guy, so that was a big plus.
