This thing is awesome. I never ee I needed this until I bought one bc ma had one and I was jealous. No more cold chocolate, food, tea for me. Since it's a flat surface you can fit dishes and cups of all sizes and surfaces. Some will heat better than others, of course, depending on the material the food/liquid is in. I've never had a problem with it getting too hot, dishes melting or breaking (I typically use ceramic, that hard plastic dishes). It doesn't have that safety turn off feature after so much time like some others (which I'm glad for) so it'll stay in until u turn it off. I know this thing is great bc I left I accidentally turned it on when I thought I was turning it off and left it on over night with a ceramic bowel on it. The bowel was fine, slightly more heated than normal, but not like scorching hot. There was a little bit of liquid left at the bottom and that just got burnt onto it (like when u leave food on the stove top long and some of it will stick to the bottom). Was able to to clean the bowl and make it look brand new my generic wash routine.

I’ve had fevers that were hotter than this.
