Castor & Pollux ORGANIX Grain Free Organic Senior Recipe Grain Free Dry Dog Food - 10 lb. Bag

UPDATE (Mar 2021)I've bought this food for MANY years but lately their QA has been extremely bad. The last 6 bags of dog food 5 out of 6 are missing the Velcro seal! No, it isn't that it fell off or that it didn't stick; it never was applied to the bag so there's no way to seal the food. We've been keeping the good bags so we can pour the food from the bad bags into a bag that can seal.SECOND, The food has CHANGED!!!!!! not just the recipe but the format of the food has changed too. the fiber, omegas, and everything else has decreased but the calories per CUP have INCREASED because of the extra junk like more sunflower seeds, potatoes, salt, and oils thus they have now changed/increased the amount of food your dog needs to eat and thus since the calories are more dense you are needing to give your dog MORE calories, more fat, more quantity just to try and get the same nutrition. a portion now requires at least 1/4 more plus the calorie density changed so a little 15 lb dog now eats 111 calories more per meal, thus it will take no time to gain a lb of weight if the dog & owner change nothing! and 1 lb is a huge percentage of weight gain ( about 7%). see pictures of old and new labels.THIRD, my dogs HATE it! This has NEVER happened before! They always gobbled the food down. not only the taste has changed but the size (See picture). The BIG brown discs are the original food the little black round pebbles are the new; which are 1/4 the size. They do not need to chew the food any longer and they did try it but they spit it out on the floor. I even tried mixing it and they just wont eat it.If you're lucky to get an OLD batch I still recommend it but the QUALITY is now POOR with the new food! So I no longer can stand behind the food. This is really just bird food now with sunflower, flax seeds plus oils and blueberries. however there are so many chemicals in it, I'm not sure the birds should eat it either-------------------------------------Dogs love this food. They are extremely picky but just gobble this down.

I hate it when companies cheapen their product. C&P used to come in a quality vinyl bag with a velcro strip to keep package closed and product fresh. Much easier to use than the zip strip many other dog food mfgs use.No Longer do they use the convenient closure strip nor do they give you an inferior zip strip. No means of keeping bag closed/product fresh now without using chip clips or rubber bands. Lost me as a customer.

I started feeding my dogs Organix when my blue heeler was 11 and my spaniel mix was 6 months. The blue heeler lived to be 17, and my other dog is now 13 and in excellent health. I truly believe this food has contributed to their long life span. I don't think they had a Senior product when I started feeding it 13 years ago, but now they do and my dog loves it just as much as the Adult food. One of my cats even sneaks some out of her bowl while she is eating! They have improved the packaging over the years and now this bag has a velcro like strip that will hold the back closed.I highly recommend Castor and Pollux Organix.

I got this because of it being strictly organic but after 2 months of this with my dog, her behavior changed, skin/hair,alertness. I”ll say this its not the worst but my dog was declining on this food and for it to be organic was a surprise. I switched to my older brand and now everything going back to normal. Maybe the organic brand is missing something, not sure but for the priceand the health of my dog not willing to gamble.

I switched my 10 yo cancer survivor Scottie dog from Racheal Ray to this brand and saw the results immediately. He acts like a young pup again full of energy and spunk. No one believes he’s senior! I love that this product is chock full of organic ingredients and vitamins and there were no recalls. It’s a little pricey, yes, but if it helps him stay active, healthy and happy, I don’t mind paying more. I highly recommend this product to any dog owner.

I had switched her from the adult brand to senior and you could tell she liked it better. She has now passed away and our new dog, a mixed breed, about 5+ years, though not a senior yet I decided to feed her this too. She liked it too. Very pleased we only feed organic.

All natural ingredients, resealable bag and my Husky loves this! Retail stores kept running out of his cereal, so I'm actually glad amazon carries this. Sweet potato formula ensures that he gets his shiny coat and great for his digestive system. I'm better off buying the 10lb bag for the price compared to the smaller bag, I get a better bargain for him.

My senior terrier mix (11 years old) had digestion issues with her last store bought food. Once I switched her over to this food, she stopped having the vomiting, bloating, diarrhea and the loud grumbling in her stomach. It also doesn’t smell like crap like the other dry dog foods. It is just kinda too expensive but it’s worth it for good digestive health!
