Hannah's Hot Pickled Sausage 39 ct. Gallon Jar

This is a true southern snack, especially when you pair it with some hot pickled eggs, then you have it all... I am quite pleased with this 64 ounce jar, which is basically 4 pounds of goodness, and they are full sized, unlike the pieces you receive in the smaller sizes... and at a much better price, so you definitely need to add these to your cart and hit that submit button, you can't go wrong !!!

Old. Jar had what looked like grease on the inside. White and smudge. Taste was off like old food and tasted like cardboard. Mfg date was 10102 whi h mad the jar very old. Ruined my day opening and trying one of theses.

I love these little sausages. They have just the right amount of heat to them, not to hot but yet hot enough. They also have excellent flavor. I have colitis so I am supposed to watch what I eat. These aren't something recommended for Colitis patients. No worries though, these sausages never bothered my colitis at all. About the only thing I can complain about is I would like to get a few more for the money and I wish I could get them as a subscription and have them delivered every month.

Everything is great but my lid was plastic and juice leaked everywhere but was able to save it when was cracked

I see a lot of reviews stating that the sausages didn't taste quite like the red hots flavor that they were looking forward to. I had the same experience. The brine that they are in should have a sharp, tangy hot vinegar flavor. Instead, they taste more like a salt brine flavor more akin to pickled pigfoot. I don't know if it was a batch error or not. Flavor fix: I had already eaten two of them out the jar and remembered that I had saved several jars of red hot pickled sausage brine from previous store buys. I removed the sausages from this jar and placed 6 at a time in the smaller red hots jars, making sure they were fully covered with the different brand brine. I left them soaking overnight and tasted one. I was stunned that in just 24 hours, all the sausages now tasted exactly like red hots are supposed to...tangy and spicy with no salt water flavor at all. I suggest that you either look up recipes for red hots brine online, remove the brine in this jar, and replace with your own brine -OR- buy a small jar at the store, eat them, then move 5 or 6 sausages at a time into the smaller jar, replacing them with more sausages from this big jar as you eat them. They will quickly take on the new flavor.

I just love pickled sausage but this was very disappointing. I opened them the evening after receiving and they tasted odd. Nothing like pickled sausage I've eaten. I gave them to my son who loves them also. He called and tells me they were old, so that's why they tasted nasty.

Did not taste the same. Mushy.

Love these! I was worried about shipping but had no issues.
