I had to remove the new fan from its hardware assembly and use it to replace just the fan in my laptop. Review: It was a bit of a DIY project - When the fan arrived it came with the heat pipe cooling heatsink. However, when I got my laptop apart I could see it was not the same heatsink as was used in the Dell unit I had. However, the fans were the same so I just removed the fan from the heatsink and then put the new fan in where the bad fan was. This worked out great. The new fan is in and working and my laptop is running much cooler. So, it all worked out.
