Useful little tool,a bit rough around the edges,but for the price, you can't go wrong, definitely buy again.

I already have one that looks like this. It is advertised as 45x but it probably a third of that (15x). The field if view isn't great but the optical quality, particularly contrast, is excellent. It takes smaller, LR927 (AG7), batteries. I got this 60x model out of curiosity. It has a larger battery barrel to take LR44 (AG10) batteries and to provide room for an ultra violet LED. It is cheap for a reason. The field of view is small and made even smaller by pronounced spherical aberration such that only a small part at the centre of the field is unblurred. The magnification seems to be about a third of that stated, as is common with these loupes whenever a magnification greater than 10x is claimed. The illumination, though, is very good. You could use it as a night light to get you around the house. The 45x model is an excellent loupe with an attached light. The 60x model, on the other hand, is a good light with a virtually unusable attached loupe.

Not really any good unless you hold it close, however the additional magnifying glass helps.

Didn't expect much, but the magnifying glass had a bubble in the middle of it. Returning it would mean a 10 mile round trip to nearest drop off point, so just have to suck it up as a bad buy. Disappointed!

I've always kept 2 or 3 different Jeweler's Loupes for various reasons, working on electronics, removing splinters, investigating tiny insects, reading small print, looking at gems and jewelry, and often just for fun. I have been using it for a couple of months I guess, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I only recently realized that the magnification level is adjustable by sliding the eyepiece in and out. I took a chance and ordered this thing, expecting to be disappointed, because of the low price, but instead I experienced serendipity! I wasn't disappointed at all! On the contrary, I am shocked at the quality and usefulness of this thing. The LED is very white and is bright enough to be a small flashlight, and is much more useful than I could've imagined. There is also an ultraviolet LED that makes bright colors really glow brightly. I actually expect this to be really handy for some things, but I haven't figured out anything it's good for, yet. But I'm sure it really is handy. My wife got an identical one after she used mine a couple of times. She now carries it in her purse everywhere she goes, and she says she uses it at least once every single day. In fact, one of the best things about buying this loupe/microscope is that my wife likes it so much that she has finally stopped making fun of the oddball gadgets and things that I occasionally order through amazon.com! I didn't keep up with the shipping times, but it must've arrived quickly or else I'd remember it. And I also cant remember anything about the packaging, but we've received 3 of these and there has been no damage nor problems of any sort.

A great little microscope to view currency or anything else! It is equipped with a blue light and a white LED, both of which work great. It’s easy to adjust and would work well for kids, science lovers and currency collectors alike!
