New River Guide Paperback – March 1, 2008

Excellent descriptions of the different sections from the confluence of the North and South forks, through the New River Gorge. Good descriptions and advice to smallmouth fisherman though it does not cover other fish species (catfish) as smallmouths seem to be the draw for the author.

This is one of the most informative books I have ever read about smallmouth bass fishing on the New River. Along with the Nat Geo Blueway map I now know where the best places to fish and access the river.

One of the best guide books I have ever read. The information is dead on.

I don't live too far from the New, have fished it many times. Bruce is right on target with book. If you have never been there this book gives you all the info you need for a fun trip. Not only good maps but excellent projected float times from point to point. Also he is a fisherman and you know what kind of pool formation to expect and how to navigate each rapid. Lastly, you won't blunder into danger. The best I've seen.Brown Osborne
