Love this for poetry exposure
This is our family's go to poetry book. It sits on display in our homeschooling room and is read and looked through regularly. The illustrations are beautiful and the selection of poems is perfect and well balanced. This is actually my second copy of the book. I accidentally left the first copy outside at my nature school and it was rained on but I love the book so much I ordered another. I always recommend this for parents looking to explore poetry more with their kiddos. Poetry doesn't have to be intimidating. Just read one a day while having breakfast or thumb through and read the poems from your family's birthdays. Pretty soon your kids will just naturally pull it out and explore it on their own. Great for all ages!

Great book
This has been a really fun addition to our morning routine and morning basket. It's dated so you don't have to think about what to read and when, very easy for adding to a curriculum or routine. The poems are various, some being longer and some being a couple lines. All of them are cute. The pages and illustrations are beautiful.

A massive collection of poems for the whole year!
Sing a Song of Seasons is a beautiful volume of poetry, one poem for each day of the year. Find poems from both poets from the past as well as poets from today. The book opens with a beautifully illustrated page to pen the ownerโs name on a label calling โThis book belongs to..โ. The poems are all categorized by month. Turn to any month, and find a list of poems (one for each day of the month) followed by a double spread illustrated page matching the mood of the month. Sing a Song of Seasons is GORGEOUS! The sometimes vibrant, sometimes subdued but colorful digital illustrations captures nature in all its beauty. The cold winter months are captured beautifully in subdued grays, blues and shades of white. Spring months show off greens, pink and browns. And so on.. Natureโs creatures, amazing landscapes and the glory of seasons changing are beautifully integrated with poetry. Over 90 poets from Langston Hughes, Lilian Moore, N.M. Bodecker, William Shakespeare and many more are featured in the โSing a Song of Seasonsโ. We thoroughly enjoyed reading and hunting for our favorite poems as well as reading through newer poems. This volume offers a variety of poetic styles as well, from simple nature haikus to longer form of poetry from poets such as Emily Dickinson. There is a poem there for you. Sing a Song of Seasons is sure to be a favorite this holiday season. Whether you find yourself buying a copy for your home or as a gift for someone special, this volume is a book that will stay for a very long time.

I'm in love with this book
I have no words to describe how beautiful this book is. It is the size of a coffee table book, with thick, glossy pages and gorgeous full-color illustrations. The poems are incredibly varied (which means you are guaranteed to find some that you love) and suited perfectly to the month they are chosen for. The book is super easy to use as well: each month is prefaced by a table of contents, so you can see the poems for the month and find one of your favorites. Kiddos only want to read poems by Robert Frost? Just use the handy indexes at the back of the book to look up poems by their poet or first line. There is also a bright, pink ribbon sewn into the book so you can save your place. Sing a Song of Seasons is a book I will cherish for years to come. Highly recommended for school libraries, little bookworms, and all adults who love poetry. Do yourself a favor and buy it. You won't regret it.

WOW! Most Fabulous collection of Poetry, Art, and Nature for the whole family to enjoy!
This is the most beautiful book of poetry that I have ever seen. The poems are all thoughtfully selected, some short, some long, new and old classics. The book is huge, the paper is heavyweight, the colors in the art are vibrant and each illustration coordinates so well with the days and months. I am keeping this copy for myself whenever my grandchildren visit. And I just ordered one for each grandchild to have and enjoy as they grow. They are 4 mos., 18 mos, and 2 years old. We are all big readers in our family, and I am a biologist, and appreciate all of the birds and nature within. Reading it reminded me of the wonder I felt as a child when I received a new book. Sing a Song of Seasons is a keepsake!

If you have a baby, toddler, kid, do not hesitate just buy.
This is the best book for kids of all ages. My 18 month old is now 28 months old and it's still her favorite. I've gifted this and lugged it around. Well worth the "investment" Most surprisingly was all 300+ pages are full color spreads. The poems are great but the various animals, seasons, flowers, night/day, weather is what makes it magical. The amount of vocab building surpasses all other books I have. Just be warned, it's a big hefty book and will wake up the downstair neighbirs if you fall asleep reading it, roll over, and it falls to the floor. ๐ But it also means my toddler loooooves to attempt to carry it around while grunting ("maximum effort") Highly recommend

Truly Beautiful
This book far exceeds my expectations. I was looking for something to read with my children during our morning read aloud time in our homeschool. I wanted something with a variety of poetry from silly and fun for the littles and deep and classical for the older ones. This book surprises us every day and the gorgeous pictures give them lots of scope for the imagination as I read. I am excited to have found something we can use year after year. Would recommend this again and again. Every morning basket needs it.

Nothing of anything
Bought on the reviews; I think even a child would be confused on lack of content and meaning. Repetition and uninteresting.

short and sweet poem for each day of the year
We love the book. It is great to build up toddler's interest in poems as they are short and sweet. It is a beautiful way to start off a day.

Great selection of poems but clearly edited to have no "God poems"
Even for Christmas day there is no mention of God or Jesus. Clearly selected from a secular perspective. However we are a Christian family and love this book and enjoy reading it year after year and re-encountering the poems.
