Carhartt Men's Rain Defender Relaxed Fit Midweight Sherpa-Lined Full-Zip Sweatshirt

My husband works construction 10 hours a day outside in Chicago. He Loves these especially in the winter. He now has 5 of them. He couldn't stop talking about the 1st one I bought him...now All of the guys on his crew wear them too. He Loves how roomy they are, he can move in them & he doesn't feel restricted & Loves how warm they are, even the hood is lined with Sherpa. He also says the zipper is very strong & goes way up when he puts the hood on & doesn't scratch his neck & chin, which is important when your working in Chicago "The Windy City". It is also water repellent (Not waterproof) keeps dry in light snow & light rain. SIZING: They are made with a Fuller cut & are a little big when you 1st get them BUT they do shrink just a little after washing them & drying them in the dryer, so if you are 1/2 size, order 1 size up. EXAMPLE: (if a L size shirt is tight on you, order this in XL) especially if you maybe wearing a thermal T Shirt & flannel shirt underneath it. These Hoodies are well made & are the very Best on the market...especially if you work outside or just want a hoodie that stands up to the wind & cold (Chicago) weather....worth every penny!!! I have absolutely zero complaints with this jacket. Warm, water resistant, and heavy. Just wish the fuzzy liner goes all the way up the arms. This jacket works best with a long sleeve underneath.

This jacket is exactly what you’d expect from Carhartt, super durable and well-made. The material feels thick and high quality, but still comfortable enough for everyday wear. I like the relaxed fit, it layers easily without feeling bulky. The rain defender feature actually works for light rain, which is a huge plus. Great for work or just being outside. Definitely worth it.

First off the size may throw people off. My suggestion, go to a local sporting good store and test the fitting. I’m a 5’6 male body bulit in a athletic standpoint so a SMALL fits best for a FIT/FIRM size Next, the quality. The texture feels amazing. it feels like you can take this out in really cold environments. It has two deep pockets. And on the right pocket, it has another smaller pocket, great for loose coins or store something small like keys. Inside the hoodie has a pocketon the left side to fit your cell phone such as a PLUS. The zipper goes all the way towards your neck, NOT on the bottom of your neck like typical hoodies. This is a game changer honestly for me. The experience of the Carhartt is something i didnt expect. For one. You can wear it when it’s 30degrees with just a shirt on and the hoodie. It’s that warm. As for when it’s cold such as single digits or when it’s like 15degrees. It is highly recommended to wear a thin layer of a sweatshirt or a thermal. Its not a bad deal. Not all hoodies are going to be weather proof. As for the RAINDEFENDER, it works like a charm. I walked my dog when it’s DRIZZLING out in 20 degrees. But i would not suggest people to use this when it’s a heavy downpour. This hoodie is suppose to be water Resistant not Waterproof remember that. In that case i would not wash this in a washing machine regardless. I rather handwash it so the materials of the rain defender won’t wear off. That my hypothesis. Overall i cant see cant bad things out of this jacket. I honestly love this. This is my first time buying a Carhartt Hoodie and the money was well worth it. Great for a cold Chicago weather when the temps here are unpredictable.

During the winter, I live in this thing! Tough, comfortable, and a perfect fit. It's won't prevent you from getting wet, but it holds up well to a little bit of rain.

I definitely like this jacket, it is overall nice and warm, but in my opinion it misses the mark on two things. I am not a fan of the sateen material used on the inside of the sleeves. It is smooth and cold to the touch and because I don't generally wear long sleeve shirts, when I just grab the jacket to go out my arms feel that cold material and brrrrrr.... Then outside I constantly feel like my arms are cold as I move even thought it is otherwise a very warm jacket. The other miss is the double pocket on the right side. The smaller pocket seems useless and I constantly snag my fingers inside the small pocket when trying to get my cold hand into the larger regular pocket. Otherwise it seems very durable, the body of the jacket is a thick warm material and uses a good quality zipper. I will definitely keep this jacket but in cold weather I'll need to put on a long sleeve shirt before putting it on to go out

Worth the buy extremely warm & durable great that it zipper goes all the way past your collar covering your entire neck for total coverage for extreme cold temperatures I purchased all 3 colors wish they were more colors. Well worth the price great packaging also quick delivery. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase. One thing I don't know why they didn't extended the fleece down the sleeves which would had made the hoodie even warmer & something you could just throw on with a t-shirt on just for a quick walk to the corner store. My chest & back were extremely warm but the sleeves because the fleece stopped were a little cold.

#1 reason i looked at this- waterproofing. As baseball grounds crew I was told it is a "wet, cold, miserable job". Although it doesn't seem like it would be waterproof material- it ABSOLUTELY IS and does a WONDERFUL job at it (we had torrential flooding downpours and ice/sleet rain during work early season- i was good!) #2 reason was I wanted something light but keep me warm. I will admit one one heavy rain fall day where it felt like snow temps (it was actually 52), i did feel rather chilled that day in the end when we had to sit for 30-45 mins for the rain. I was not wet, and I was shocked i felt cold- and pulled the hoodie over my head. I had mositure wicking long sleever underneath and waterproof pants/socks on- so again i was shock i felt a chill. I don't believe it was the coats fault as I LOVE the coat.. perhaps it was sweating during most of the day then sitting down when it got cold that did it? So this jacket is light, but not THAT light. It's light for a "keep me warm" jacket, and it's not entiretrly unpleasant when just wearing it around without being worried about thhe cold (wouldnt' wear it around in t-shirt/shorts weather though. its' defintely waterproof and will keep you warm for normal use. i'd be comfortable in it I believe in sub-40F temps, maybe 30 but that's where i think you might want to switch to a heavier coat- is my guess. its' comfy but it runs a size large (or it did for me). From the guidelines and recommendations, i ordered an XL and switched to an L which i woudl say is still fairly "loose fit" and comfy.

Tolle Jacke, super Qualität und echt warm. Schade das die dicke Fütterung nicht auch in den Ärmeln ist. Ich bestelle normalerweise 3xl und die ist manchmal noch zu klein aber hier reicht xl völlig aus.

This jacket is so comfy, warm and love that it is water resistant. Amazing quality and thickness it’s says medium weight but if you don’t live in a super cold climate it will keep you toasty and dry all winter long.
