Good Intro to Complex Software
This is the required textbook for a class at UW. I like it. I like the shape and binding; it is the right size to be flopped open in front of my keyboard. I like the diagrams and figures; it is very colorful and cheerful. (Though my copy does have printing issue for some of the images - the colors are not aligned - it should have failed QA at the plant, but got shipped anyway. Shame on the publisher.) The book gives step by step instructions on using the software. Sure, you can muscle through the exercises without learning them. However, if you follow the exercises and think about the exercises, while switching back and forth into code view to see what the software is doing, you can learn HTML at the same time you are learning to use this highly complex piece of software. The book follows a logical building block approach. Be warned, you cannot bounce about based on topic. For example, you cannot go to chapter 9 on collecting data with forms unless you are completely comfortable with chapters 1-8. In each chapter, there is some reinforcement of the previous chapters, but each chapter is not a stand alone. You must use the book chapter by chapter. I like this about the book. It is logical. I don't care for the "For Dummies" series, which makes each chapter a standalone. They have too much repetition for me. This book is just right if you want to learn the DREAMWEAVER SOFTWARE. If you want to just poke about learning html, try Head First HTML with CSS & XHTML .

Great for beginners
As an intermediate user of Dreamweaver and other Adobe products I find the Revealed series to be very insightful. With lots of graphics and picture walk-throughs, they do an outstanding job of logically explaining the features and usage of the Adobe products. I use these books and its almost like having an instructor right there with you.My only gripe is that my experiences using them in college classes have been confusing because the book really does a great job in and of itself but most professors are not willing to play the role of supporter, they feel like they have to do more. That has screwed up my classes because even though following the book is adequate for Certification, teachers rarely trust the textbooks they issue.I honestly believe that if you know anything about web design and you simply follow this books instruction you will be at the intermediate to expert level in under a month.

Easy to follow and layout is good.
I like the layout to learn Dreamweaver, I began the class but could not finish it due to illness. I've used her books before and find them easy to follow for beginners. I do recommend her, Sherry Bishop books.

great resource
I never thought of using dreamweaver with my power points. It is such a wonderful way of getting the information out there without adding lengthy slides while also providing resources for workers future use.I love the 3D and graphics. I am briefing on an entirely new level and now co-workers can't wait for the next brief in order to see what I've come up with (which is great, but they are completely attentive so they miss nothing -- huge smile).

No Disc
Usually, I never have problems with buying used books. However, this one wasn't that banged up. That's not the problem here -- the problem is that it didn't come with a disc and I wasn't made aware that it wouldn't. The book got here a little later than expected, which is fine, but I will have to do all my work due this Monday ON the day itself (I don't own Dreamweaver at home, so I do all of my work at school). Without the disc, I've been put into a slight panic. Hopefully I can ask a classmate without attracting his attention (he frowns upon book/disc sharing - no idea why).

I got an A in my class. The book really helped me get back on track in developing my website
I received an A in my class even though I was homebound and in a lot of pain. I was being treated for a staph infection after a surgery and I almost dropped out of school the book was easy to understand and with a lot of prayer I got through it.
