Great Coffee Beans
I've been buying these coffee beans for several years. I've tried the Starbucks Italian & French Roasts which are also great. These particular beans seem to make the strongest coffee of the three. I like my coffee strong & this one is my favorite. Keep in mind, however that buying it on Amazon is no bargain; in fact, it costs more than buying it at Starbucks. I included this item in an order that included several other items & I was under the mistaken impression that the order qualified for free shipping since that's what was indicated in "checkout." Instead, the coffee was shipped separately & the shipping charge was a little over $4.00, which makes the total price higher than buying it in a Starbucks store or a market.

one bag stale, the other bag fresh
Good price and even better with my Prime membership because I got it in two days. The first bag was somewhat stale. I noticed the flavor was off and looked at the beans and they were hollow looking and broke easily when I squeezed them. The second bag was fresh and the flavor was magnificent. I will purchase again and take the chance.

Great tasting coffee
Great tasting coffee beans! I use them in my super automatic espresso machine and works very good so far. I may however have to perform more frequent maintenance to the machine because it seems a bit oilier than French roast. I have also used the Dark French roast which is also a very good but this one has a darker toast that fits my taste for strong coffee. Both are great beans for espresso; but just as happens with wine, each person will develop its personal preference.

Might as well have ground up charcoal and brewed it - that probably gives charcoal a bad name.
Definitely avoiding this garbage. I bought it along with a bunch of other coffee brands. This was by far, the worst. Over roasted, bitter, horrible quality. I forced myself to drink it. Was extremely disappointed with the debris I found at the bottom of the bag of beans. Clearly not beans, not sure what it was... no quality control.

Great for specialty drinks.
This tastes great when using to brew specialty drinks, especially the ones that call for frothing various creamers. Be sure to see what grind settings and amounts are required for your drink, though. My first attempt was a fine powdered fail with double what was required for the drink I was attempting. It was not pleasant. Second attempt was delicious after following instructions.

Good value
If you like to grind your own espresso this is a good raw material to start with. As was recommended to me I also suggest a "burr grinder" because the other primary type (for the home) heats (think re-cooks) the bean (too much) while making the end product. Right now I can buy this at the local in-market Starbucks for $13.88 out the door, so this is a little more expensive here, though if you have Amazon Prime the convenience of home delivery is good. If you don't have prime and aren't offered free shipping, then check your local Starbucks when you go for groceries, you might be saving some money.

I like strong coffee and this one is excellent
I like strong coffee and this one is excellent. I combine it with a 5 pound bag of Coffee Bean Direct CO2 Decaf Espresso Coffee, also available on Amazon. You would never know by the flavor that it's a little over 80 percent decaf. After thoroughly mixing the two bags of beans in a large bowl, I divide the mix into small freezer bags, place the bags in 1 gallon freezer bags and place the filled bags in the freezer where it keeps well. I then remove the amount needed and let it thaw in the fridge before grinding. It can also be defrosted in the microwave.
