The one end is nicely swaged with an eye loop, as is typical for cables of this thickness and length. The other end, tucked on the inside of the coil, was unfinished and unsecured so that, by the time it arrived here had begun to unravel, the individual steel strands poking through the inadequate cardboard manufacturer's box, and through my skin when I went to lift it out of the shipping box. It's something that could have been prevented with a piece of tape, some zip ties, or a handful of other inexpensive ways.
