Great Waffles
I’m really pleased with this waffle maker! It’s incredibly easy to use and heats up quickly, so I can have waffles ready in no time. The waffles come out exactly as expected—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside—and the indicator light lets me know when they’re perfectly done. Cleanup is a breeze, thanks to the non-stick plates, and the compact design makes it easy to store. It feels durable and well-built, so I’m confident it will last for a long time. Overall, this waffle maker works exactly as promised and is a great addition to my kitchen. Highly recommend!

A Perfect Addition to My Kitchen!
I recently purchased this waffle maker, and it has quickly become a kitchen favorite! The affordability combined with its exceptional performance make it a fantastic addition to any home. The indicator lights are incredibly helpful, providing a foolproof way to know when the waffle iron is ready for action. The flip feature is a game-changer for achieving even cooking, thanks to the clever use of gravity. I've never experienced any issues with overcooking – every waffle comes out perfectly golden and delicious. The non-stick surface is a dream! I love how the batter effortlessly lifts off, resulting in pancakes that remind me of those served in high-end hotels. It's a delightful way to enjoy a touch of luxury in the comfort of my own home. In summary, this waffle maker has exceeded my expectations, offering quality and performance at an unbeatable price. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a reliable and efficient appliance for creating delightful breakfast treats!

Trial run - Perfection!
It was 100°F outside in Dallas today (real feel 110°). Too hot to cook & clean up afterwards. I decided to try out my new waffle maker. I had prepped the cooking surfaces a couple of days ago per the instructions, using Trader Joe's Canola Oil because it was what I had on hand. Tonight I made a quick batter with Pearl Milling Company (formerly Aunt Jemima) Buttermilk Complete Pancake & Waffle Mix. Followed package instructions for waffles on the side of the box, letting the batter rest while the waffle maker heated up. Carefully poured the batter (the electrical cord could be a tad longer), closed the cover, flipped it over and waited for the steam to stop. There was a good bit of steam, so next time I'll make sure I set up as far away from the wall/overhang as possible. When I couldn't tell if it was steam or smoke coming up, I flipped it back over and raised the lid to find one beautiful, golden-brown waffle. I removed it to a plate using kitchen tongs and topped it with warmed Pearl Milling Company Butter-Rich Syrup. Simply delicious, easy, satisfying, fun Tuesday night dinner in less than 20 mins, start to finish. Add some sausage links or bacon if you want. Maybe heat up some canned or frozen cooked apple slices. YUM! So glad I invested in this beauty!

Flipper is good but plastic base ... not so good
Only going with 4. The base is plastic. No dial to set temps and it is just weak. Yes the cost is cheap and that is what you get but from B&D I expected more. Still it cooks pretty good. I gave it the biscuit test...you know cooked biscuits in it the first time out. It takes a while to heat to "ready" temp but after that does pretty good. Really this is not a bad iron but not for kids either as they can be rough on things. If no kids and you live on budget, this will work for you most likely. You have to work with the timing...it get a good cook on the iron for the product you want. It cooks grilled cheese pretty good. Clean up is easy and NO the grilles do not come out. But the grill irons seem to be non-stick. I just wiped them off after it cooled just a little (still warm but not hot) and it came clean.

Great basic waffle maker
For the money this is a great waffle maker! Now yes, the hinge on the back is wobbly and I don't expect it to last forever, but I did not pay a fortune for it either. My daughter is 11 and loves to make waffles on Sunday mornings with this maker. I use a pastry brush to season it with oil and it works like a charm, no sticking whatsoever. Use exactly what the directions say, 3/4 c. batter and you won't have any overflow. Add some oil to your batter to make them crispy on the edges. I use Bisquick mix or Hungry Jack, haven't had the time to make my own recipe yet. It makes a thicker, traditional Belgian waffle. I haven't fully figured out how to clean it well though, as the waffle surfaces are not removable. The directions say just to wipe it down and that's what I've been doing. At first, it seems a little stiff to turn over too, but that is getting easier. There is no buzzer on this particular model, you just have to wait for the green light. You do have to play around with it a little, as you cannot check the waffle as it is cooking. So if you like them darker or lighter, you would have to use your own timer. There is no rheostat for a heat setting. Also, there is no on/off switch, so you have to make sure you unplug it when you are done!! All in all I am still very happy with this model for what I paid for it. I does the job well and with a little patience, you can figure out how long to cook your waffles. If you need a high end product, then look elsewhere, this is just a basic waffle iron.

Easy to use!!
I bought this because I had home made waffles last year at Easter and it stayed on my mind since! I saw that this one was on sale and after reading comments and reviews I decided to buy it. I have used it two times since I purchased it. It’s very easy to use! The first time I was a little uptight when I used it and I set my timed on my stove for 4 minutes because even though the manual said the indicator light would turn off and on when it was supposed to, and it did but this is just me lol. Each waffle I made cake out perfect and golden brown. None of them burned and they all cooked evenly! I over filled the “plate” in the cooker a tiny bit and some came out the side and it was easily cleaned up and this is expected to happen. The trick is to start pouring from the center out in a circular pattern and slow down when getting to the edge because chances are once it settles the edges and it’s full. I am very pleased with my purchase. The waffle maker is made fairly well and it’s easy to use! Btw, use tongs to lift the waffles out of the maker. This was not a problem at all but I mutilated a few using a fork. They don’t really stick to the iron, they are just snug in there. I would recommend this to a friend!

I recommend this one over the more-popular Bella
I have purchased both this and the BELLA Classic Rotating Belgian Waffle Maker 13991 . Ultimately I recommend this one, over the Bella. Functionally, they work identically. They produce the same size waffles with the same pattern, the locking mechanism works basically the same, they both have the same folding handle, they both have a drip tray that can be slotted in vertically for convenience. I measured the temperatures and temperature evenness of the hot plates with an IR thermometer and they're similarly identical -- heating until 450°F, stopping heating until it goes down to 350°F, then turning heating back on until reaching 450°F. In fact, the two products are so similar that I have to assume they're made in the same factory in China. And the one functional difference them *seem* to have actually isn't -- the temperature control on the Bella (which the B&D lacks) has no purpose. I mean, it works. But there is simply no situation when you're making waffles where you don't want the maximum heat, where you don't want them to start out at 450°F. However light or dark you prefer your waffles should be determined exclusively by how long you leave them in. Lighter waffles should be done with less time, not a lower temperature. A lower temperature will only result in an undercooked interior. So the fact that the Bella has a temperature knob isn't a pro in any way, but it is one more thing that can break -- so it's actually a con, albeit a small one. But, so why do I recommend the Black & Decker instead? Quite simply, it looks much better in the kitchen. The Bella is made of glossy-smooth stainless steel, and a glossy-smooth plastic support that looks flimsy. It just looks kind of... cheap. Whereas the Black & Decker is made of *brushed* stainless steel, and a *matte* plastic support that looks and feels far more substantial. If you have a modern kitchen, then your fridge/dishwasher/oven/toaster oven/etc. are probably all finished in *brushed* steel. So the Black & Decker just "fits in" nicely. Whereas the Bella just looks cheap and unattractive. Matte finishes are just more attractive than glossy ones, generally speaking. If you don't care about looks, then just pick whichever one is cheaper -- they will make identical waffles. But if you want this to look good in your kitchen, then I completely recommend the Black & Decker instead.

The waffles easily fall out once they're done
UPDATE (3/28/17): Over a year later and this waffle maker is still going strong. Still cooks the waffle perfectly. I've maybe seasoned it once more with olive oil in the time I've had it, and the waffles come out easily. Zero regrets on this purchase! I've had this waffle iron since May, and it hasn't let me down. I use it a couple times a month to make chocolate chip waffles, and I'm impressed every time. It makes a perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside waffle. I lost the drip tray, though! My own fault. I've only seasoned it with olive oil once (before I first used it), and I haven't needed to since. The waffles easily fall out once they're done. It's also pretty easy to clean (which I do every time unless I want my next waffle to taste like charred chocolate chips)--I just wipe it down with a dry, or lightly damp, paper towel while it's still hot and any left over waffle mix or chocolate chips just slide right off. The outside is a little bit grungy--not as sparkly and spotless as it once was--but that doesn't matter to me at all. LOVE this waffle iron, and I would definitely buy it again or as a gift. The only thing I don't like about this waffle is that you have to stand around and wait for the green "Ready" light to come on, and you can't step away and do other things otherwise the waffle might burn. But that doesn't really bother me because I'll either be in the kitchen anyway or I can see it while I'm sitting at my dining room table eating one of the waffles I've already made.

Great kitchen appliance
Great for making delicious waffles. Perfect waffles every time, light indicator tells you when the machine is and when your waffle is ready. The flip aspect of the machine is the best way to ensure that the batter is evenly distributed.
