Found her as a tiny kitty, figure her mother was either feral or darn near close to and either passed or left my baby girl on side of road. Who knew a rough start would make such a snuggly cat. Anyways, my girl is now four and eats as if she's never had food before. Sometimes going as far as grabbing the pizza off a plate as we eat or the bread off the counter (which now is behind closed doors). She's been a highly motivated food thief. Have used a few other canned foods over the last few years but she usually has some kind of reaction. Nothing horrible but enough for me to keep searching for something that will work for us. This Ziwi chicken has been amazing. My baby girl is healthy, happy, and slightly addicted to hearing the can open every morning. I also found it on a hazard list. I even contacted someone at ZiwiPeak and after he looked into it himself, he was baffled as to why it was being used. I just wanted to make other ZiwiPeak consumers aware of this since we think we are paying extra to have the best food for our pets, however, one single ingredient can negate this. **Q: The label, name and consistency/color of the food changed in March 2017. Has anyone had issues?** A: Hi there! Depending on where you buy it, you may be offered the older formula or this new one. The new formula for the rabbit & lamb has chickpeas and my cats LOVE it. The traditional fat-on-the-top is gone but there is a "gravy" like juice which my cats go nuts over. I wasn't excited about chickpeas, but my boys are loving it. We've been using ZP for several years, 1 cat eats primarily this and the other cat will eat it but prefers Dr. Harvey's Oracle- that was until this new formula came, now both boys are going nuts over it! She was already having constipation issues. She was on pretty decent food (Natures Variety) and the issues became worse so I thought maybe it was the chemicals. So after HOURS...HOURSSSS of reading and searching I found this food. I do love 99% of the ingredients. She loved the food but became severely constipated. Her stool was completely dried out, passing them was very painful. I almost had to take her to the vet because she stopped passing stool for almost a whole week which is dangerous at her age. I got her off this food and back to the old food and also put her one "Colon Rescue". Please buy Colon Rescue on amazon if your fur baby is having issues, it's all natural and will "get things moving"! So that ONE INGREDIENT that I think ruined it is the chicken bone. No other cat foods have this, at least I haven't come across it yet. I thought maybe it was the mussels but I did some reading and these mussels seem to be a safe ingredient. So my assumption is the chicken bone is just too hard to pass. There are no actual pieces and I put the food in a blender to make it into a soup (toothless) but it still didn't help.
