Meguiar's Water Spot Remover, Water Stain Remover and Polish,16 Oz

I have upgraded my review of this product after trying two other options: 1. BioClean 2. Meguire's Ultimate Compound I knew BioClean would be too harsh and it is. For removing water spots, it actually works very well in conjunction with Meguire's Ultimate Compound except for one major problem: it is very abrasive and damaging to plastic or paint, even the acrylic urethane finish on cars. The instructions say not to use on shiny car paint and that is an understatement. It will create fine swirl marks on paint and will haze plastic components like bumpers and sideskirts. BioClean is mean't to be used on glass or household applications like shower rooms. Obviously, what would you prefer: no water spots, or swirl marks on your pristine car finish??? The swirl marks are not as bad as waxing a dirty car, but you can still see it if you look closely. I knew the Ultimate Compound from Meguire's would be a stop down from their Water Spot Remover product since it is basically a compound and it is. It has finer grit in it and is not as effective at removing water spots. Works very well though, if you apply it after BioClean. I found the Meguire's Compound Water Spot Remover will not completely remove stubborn water spots, but at least it won't damage automotive finishes. It also buffs out to a nice waxy shine, much better than the Ultimate Compound. What I do now is apply this product a couple of times. Each time it removes more and more of the water spots. I call it a day after that, knowing any other options may damage the finish on the car, or be less effective. Because this product is a compound, it does remove some paint since my car is Race Red and it leaves the white terry cloth I am using pink in areas if I rub too hard. I then finish up with my wax of choice: 3M Performance Finish. I mainly needed to remove bad waterspotting under the hood and trunk lid, on top the fenders inside the engine compartment and the drainage trough underneath the trunk lid. I had the car in storage and the storage company washed the car a couple of times, but did not wipe off water spots in those areas. This product will remove spots fairly well on areas that were waxed, but on unwaxed areas, the spots still won't come off completely even with multiple applications and hard rubbing. Fortunately, I don't have to use this product on the outside top coat since the storage company dried that out OK after a wash so there are no water spots. BTW, if you want to remove water spots on flat glass, it's easy. Just use a sharp razor blade, works like a charm! Turns all those deposits to white dust. Just blow it off the glass or clean it up with window cleaner. **Wink** Won't work on paint though, as the razor blade might dig in and scrape the paint.

I am very pleased with this water spot remover. The previous owner of my truck let his irrigation sprinklers spray water all over the truck for probably a long time. Two applications of the water spot remover, with a bit of elbow grease, removed the water spots on the paint and the windows. Added wax after the spot remover and I had a like new finish. Great stuff!

This product is the best I've used to date. I've tried 4 others that didn't work at all. I bought specifically to remove hard water spots from my rv windows. It isn't awesome but does actually work. I used a buffing pad attached to a cordless drill and had good results. Using with a rag or application pad requires a whole lot of elbow grease but does work too. Attached pictures are before and after.

Worked very well. I used a buffer. It removed almost instantly. The spots had been on the care for a long time, and baked in the sun. I put it on, buffed it a couple times, and wiped it off with a microfiber towel. It shined right up and was like new. No spots. Did a whole mid size SUV. If you are doing a larger car. Buy two.

I am loyal to this brand and appreciate the quality and effectiveness of their full range of products. My garage cabinet looks like the shelf for Meguiar's products at the auto parts store. After the lawn sprinkler spoiled the all day paint cleaner/polish/wax of the day before using the suite of Meguiar's products, I got this thinking it would make quick work of the water spots. It did not. It seems to be the same product as the Paint Cleaner and takes A LOT of rubbing to remove just one episode with the lawn sprinkler. While it does work, seems to be a needless repackaging of the other product with no special ingredient that targets water spots. No distinction in effort or results. Still a lot of work.

This stuff is amazing I saw results instantly after a firm rub. Didn’t have to do much work, I had stubborn water spots on my car and the first remover I tried didn’t work as well as Meguiar. My car is shine and looks brand new again. Just make sure to wipe or wash it off before it dries. Don’t have a clear pic forgot to take one but you can see the water spots at the top and the bottom it’s gone.

Actually did the job. It did very well at preventing any more water drops showing. And mind you I have a black cat and I use a hose to wash my car. So yep it definitely does the job for removing all that water stains.

Amazing stuff. What water/vinegar mix could barely remove on my windows with lots of elbow grease, this product took care with little to no effort.

La verdad es que yo casi nunca soy de dejar opiniones sobre productos, pero este definitivamente se lo merece por su excelente desempeño y los formidables resultados que ofrece. Desde la primera aplicación noté la diferencia. Es sumamente fácil de usar, no requiere complicaciones ni procesos largos. Con muy poco producto y siguiendo las instrucciones, las manchas desaparecen prácticamente al instante. Lo que más me sorprendió es que quitó las manchas tanto en cristales como en la pintura a la primera. Tenía marcas de agua bastante visibles que ya había intentado remover con otros productos sin éxito, y este las eliminó sin problema. Funciona de maravilla y deja la superficie con un acabado limpio y brillante. Sin duda, lo recomiendo ampliamente. This product did a great job removing water spots. I used it twice on some tough stains, and the results were excellent. It was gentle on the paint and did not damage the car's finish or polish.
