Best phone/accessory mount for the FJ!
Great phone mount for my FJ!! I was looking for a phone mount that didn’t impede my view on the windshield, clip to the vent or glue to my dash. This was the answer! The fitment seems great(I was a little worried seeing the other reviews but there’s only a slight gap between the radio and the trim). I paired mine with a Wixgear magnetic mount and it seems very sturdy for a phone(wouldn’t trust it with an iPad though).

A great mount for the FJ Cruiser!
As others have noted, this is a rock solid mount and the best choice available for the FJ Cruiser. I mounted mine on the driver's side of the console for use with my iPhone 5s and for me it's the perfect position. And like _JD_ described in his March 2013 post, I trimmed the plastic molding slightly for a better fit (only needed if you're a perfectionist). Of course this item is only the vehicle half of the mounting system. You'll also need something to hold your phone. There are plenty to choose from, but I like the device mounts from ProClip. Their iPhone holders work well and bolt right up to the Panavise bracket.

Fits + Works Perfectly
I needed a low-profile, easy to grab phone mount for my FJ Cruiser and this was just the ticket. I coupled this with a WizGear Universal Flat Stick On Magnetic Mount in "extra slim" and it allows me to magnetically snap my phone to the mount with minimal interference to all the controls on my dash. Bonus, the setup does well when wheeling!

Perfect mount for phone or stand alone GPS
Bracket looks great in my truck. Fit and finish are top notch. Holds GPS or phone. It does wiggle with a bigt phone going over rough terrain but its not a deal breaker. Highly recommended.

Good useful product for holding phone for navi
Have bought two of these for my FJ. The 1st lasted about 3.5 years. It finally came apart where it screws down to the front of the dash beside the radio console. I drive my FJ like a maniac and it handled being taken down wash board roads and driving like a crazy person for 3.5 years. I also placed a phone holder on it. It did fine until I started putting my big ass Iphone 7s on it and that's what finally wore it out. The constant shaking from the roads and the weight of the phone finally wore out the relatively thin metal of the panavise. I still ordered another one since I got used to having it there holding my phone for navigation during trail rides. Plus, what was I gonna do with a phone holder and not panavise to install it on?? lol If you don't drive like a maniac down dirt roads all the time, this panavise should last you until you trade in your vehicle for another. Good product, with good usability. Thanks Panavise!!

Perfect mounting location. Solid piece. Does not obstruct your view and makes whatever you mount easily accessible.

Without Question the Most Versatile Mount for FJ
If you are reading this review you are probably also considering the VSM for the FJ offered by Pro Fit International (which also costs about 50% more.) Based on the reviews, I went with the Pro Fit option first and wish I hadn't. Doing so, and trying to figure out a way to make that one work, began my GPS mount education. Basically they should really indicate that the Pro Fit is really designed to be used exclusively with Garmin GPS systems. Pretty much Garmin is the only company that uses the 17mm ball that the Pro Fit VSM comes with. The Panavise on the other hand is not just a more stable, wider and solid piece of metal, it also wins hands down because of its limitless options for how and what you can mount to it. Both vehicle specific mounting systems are installed the exact same way. While the Pro Fit may be the most direct mount for Garmin GPS systems with female 17mm ball receivers, the Panavise is the starting just point, the base, for whatever you want to mount in your FJ. The platform is tilted towards the driver and it has the AMPS universal holes predrilled. So basically all you need to do is add on any number (and there are dozens if not hundreds) of AMPS compatible ball plates or unit specific mounts. RAM mounting systems has a wide wariety of very sturdy AMPS ball plates with 1" and 1.5" balls that will work with the Panavise. From there the sky's the limit. It should be noted that this mount does not come with any AMPS mounting hardware and that it comes in 2 pieces. The dash screw of the FJ is used to secure the straight, flat piece of metal to the dash. Then the curved, angled AMPS plate is screwed/secured to that.
