Gustav Klimt at Home by Patrick Bade is a free NetGalley ebook that I read in early February.Alongside his biography are stories of then-present day Vienna, origins of his painting and decorative arts style, and the people, places, and symbolism featured in his work. The minimalism and choice of fonts work strikingly well against the suppleness and bright colors of Klimt's art.

Whilst a simply adore anything by Gustav Klimt, I know very little about him, his life, his friends and his inspiration. This book, half coffee table, half reading book, goes a long way in introducing me to him and his life. Very well written, easy to read with absolutely fantastic artwork and photos. Anyone interested I Klimt should really read this book.

A beautifully illustrated biography of Klimt and his homes in Austria. The biography is a good over view of the artist and well written. I really enjoyed reading the stories behind the paintings. The illustrations are the real stars here. Anyone with an interest in art and Klimt will enjoy reading and looking at this book
