Biostrate Hydroponic Growing Mats - 1 Roll - 9" by 120' - for Hydroponic Grow Systems - Sure Biodegradable Felt Pads to Grow Microgreens, Wheatgrfass, Baby Salad Greens

I was a bit hesitant to buy this growing mat after readying some of the reviews. I'm glad I trusted my instinct because I have had absolutely no issues and in fact find this substrate much easier to deal with than coco coir or soil. I use Bootstrap Farmer 1020 trays and this fits the width absolutely perfectly and of course you cut it to the length desired. I currently have four trays of microgreens and they are growing beautifully! Some reviews have stated this material dissolves or falls apart. The only way that happens is if you absolutely drench this grow mat. I place the grow mat in a tray with holes, initially I mist it heavily. I spread my microgreen seeds and place the tray inside of another tray. From this point I bottom water twice a day or on extremely warm days I also top mist my trays. I have had wonderful germination and excellent root penetration. I will definitely be ordering this again!

The pictures doesnt really do the product itself justice. It comes in its roll in a Pre-sealed package to protect from contamination as it travels. The roll is clean and neat. Works well for Microgreen farming.

The media could not be loaded. I did side by side comparisons with 2 microgreens. Without fail both (peas, and radish) did significantly better in soil than the felt, also the greens in the felt never mature to a point I could harvest and use them. I would NOT recommended this medium for microgreens.

This growing mat is AWESOME!! I am growing several kinds of microgreens on this and cannot be happier. It holds moisture well without being too wet. I really enjoy growing without the mess of dirt.

The mats work great for brassica/basil/mustard/radish microgreens. They do hold moisture and make for clean growing indoors. My only complaint is they are too narrow for your standard 1020 tray. If this was 10" wide I'd love it! They sell 10x20" precut mats in case lots that are cheaper than rolls.

This stuff isn't great. It doesn't hold moisture AT ALL (you go to moisten it with some water, and it goes right through it. I tilt the tray to run off the excess water, and you can watch the biostrate dry up as the water runs out) and growing wheat grass on these is much more difficult than it has been with other biostrate I've purchased in smaller amounts. Was really hoping to find a nice big roll and get a bulk deal, but you get what you pay for.

Compared to soil this product does amazing. Radish Micros grow well in this material.
