SanDisk 500GB SSD USB-C, USB 3.1, for PC & Mac & IP55 Rated

I take lots of photos and videos when traveling and it is easy to run out of storage space. So I wanted an external storage solution. For ₹6500, I could easily buy 2TB + hard disk but I was hesitant about buying regular mechanical external hard disks because of the horror stories I read about them. Mechanical hard disks can break any time, even a slight fall is enough to corrupt a mechanical hard disk. When traveling, it is difficult to protect your stuffs free from sudden falls and hit other things. So it is very risky with mechanical hard disks. So I purchased this Sandisk SSD. The pricing of ₹6500 is good but I was able to buy at over ₹1000 in discounts under various offers from amazon and my debit card. The transfer speed is around 400 - 500 MB per second. Transferring a 2 GB file takes less than 5 seconds! Note that, the USB port in connected device should also be modern one to support high transfer speeds. This SSD has USB C port and cable. They provide free adaptor for USB C to regular USB port. I use it mainly for storing videos and also edit videos right from the SSD via the video editor in my macbook. It is light weight, small size and easy to carry.. Ifou are on the go and want a reliable storage solution, go for this. This is worth the money!

4.5/5 I was amazed my this SSD! The compactness of it, and the sturdiness are just amazing. It's been a week since I got it and the experience has been good! I am using it with my Mac and the transfer speeds are upto the mark. Video editing, I do it right out of the SSD amd have no problem, taking it to another computer, most likely windows, and continue working from there! Has no problem when it comes to Mac journaled or FAT, cause, well, it's an SSD! And the size and sturdiness, I just put it in my pocket and head out! Oh! And it's also USB-C, so I also use it as an OTG for my One Plus. I can shoot vids on my phone, copy it to the SSD, and start working on my Mac, makes my process that much easier!! Really good investment, especially for photographers and run-and-gun videographers! I am thinking of investing in another one!

I’ve been using this product for last four years and the speed is very very fast. Though at the time when I purchase it, the price was very high, but I am very happy with my Purchase as it’s very compact can be carried in your pocket. Doesn’t get hot, no moving parts, so there is less chance of data corruption. Pros are: Small size, No moving parts. Huge storage for all your computer needs. Compact to carry your pocket and bag

A very handy, light weight, and sturdy ssd. Design is very neat and minimalistic. You get password protection. SSD heats up when copying huge files, which is expected...so don't be surprised. Important note regarding the performance: The SSD will perform at it's best if your laptop/pc has usb 3.1 port, it should give you 400mbps+ speed. If you have 3.0 usb port like me, you can get speed upto 200-250 mbps, given you are copying files from your internal ssd of laptop. If your laptop has HDD instead of SSD, you might get lower speeds in range of 80-100 mbps. So do keep this in mind before ordering. I am very please with the product especial build quality.

Superfast! Got 559 MB/s read and 514 MB/s write speed on sequential test of Crystal DiskMark. Used type C cable to connect to type C port on laptop with laptop internal disk also SSD. Normal large file copy from laptop SSD to this external SSD was around 400MB/s. Small and sturdy. Price is good for the same size external SSDs. Using in my XBOX one now. Reduced load times of RDR2 from 3 mins to 1.5 mins, for GTA5 from 2.6 mins to 1.2 mins. Serial no was there on the drive ( very small and similar color as background so hard to read). Was able to register on Sandisk website with the s/n to get three years warranty added.

No doubt it's best SSD available in market right now. Compact and super portable.

A good portable/external ssd by SanDisk. Speeds are about 460mb/sec(read) and 440mb/sec(write) that my setup is able to achieve out of the drive. It's very lightweight and small, trust me you won't even feel if something's there in the package or not. My only concern is that it has a very cheap plastic covering the body on the front and if it will hold up till the drive does(cause an ssd is almost immortal). Overall a nice package. Not forgetting to mention that it connects easily with my oneplus 6 and samsung galaxy s10+ (you need to turn on the otg function on both) and the speeds are also very good considering that they are smartphones. I easily transferred 4k videos and high res photos from the phones to the drive. It runs a bit warm during casual usage too.

Ho acquistato questo prodotto in quanto avevo la necessita di portare sempre con me un hard disk esterno veloce, piccolo e resistente, in quanto non potevo occupare spazio aggiuntivo con l'utilizzo di custodie di protezione. Questo prodotto è veramente ottimo, ha una velocità di lettura e scrittura che rimane su circa 420 Mb/sec, leggermente inferiore a quanto dichiarato ma penso possa essere dato dal fatto che non utilizzo le porte USB-C in quanto il mio pc non ne ha, ma sono costretto ad utilizzare l'adattatore incluso nella confezione. Per quanto riguarda resistenza nulla da dire, sono ormai mesi che lo porto in giro tenendolo semplicemente nella tasca esterna dello zaino senza alcun tipo di protezione e non riporta ne graffi ne altro, sintomo di perfetta protezione IP-55. Mentre per la questione della portabilità le foto parlano da sé, risulta più piccolo di un normalissimo smartphone ed è decisamente più leggero, quindi sta tranquillamente in tasca e non rischia nemmeno di danneggiarsi. Penso sia un prodotto che vale il prezzo pagato, quindi se state cercando un hard disk adatto ad esigenze simili alle mie non fatevi troppi scrupoli ed acquistatelo, non ne rimarrete delusi! Per quanto riguarda la spedizione viene consegnato all'interno di una busta imbottita, come potete vedere il foto, quindi ottimo impacchettamento e scarse probabilità che si danneggi anche solo la confezione durante il trasporto.

Excellent! I used this as my boot drive for my Mac ... it has greatly improved the overall speed of my Mac as compared to when it was booting from the HDD that it came with.

Because, if you are like me, you are probably thinking that this device is roughly the size of a small disk drive. But it isn't! Its more like a large thumb drive, but works faster and holds 500 Gb of stuff. Comes with encryption software to protect the contents of the drive. It is rugged and well made. I was really pleasantly surprised at how small this was, although I guess I should have checked the specs. Probably a little too big to wear around your neck, but certainly smaller than pocket size. I also bought the little case, and it is useful to hold the connecting cable and adaptor. That adaptor is the only minor issue- the connecting cable uses an adaptor to go from USB to miniusb, and it is easy to lose. Overall I love using this and highly recommend it.
