Beginner Friendly
I am an absolute beginner, so far I have perfectly coated 2 screen with no problem. I did fail at one screen but that was my own error. I dropped a big blob of the emulsion down onto the screen. Someone said this is not beginner friendly, but I have had no problem and I don't believe that I am just naturally skilled at this lol. The emulsion dries fairly fast and the image burning worked fine. Spraying the image out is easy and doesn't take long. I recommend a spray bottle for it. I did it first with a shower head but that was hard. I have coated a total of 3 screens and probably still have enough for one more. So it lasts pretty long. Overall this is a great product and I recommend it.

Works great.
I have used this emulsion numerous times now, and the only time I had an issue was when I didn't pre-wash my screen properly. I easily removed it with emulsion remover, washed my screen, dried it thoroughly, and then reapplied the emulsion and it worked perfectly. I don't think I'll go back to speedball because I find it harder to get the time right with speedball and with this emulsion, the time of light exposure is always consistent. I just wish it came in a bigger jar so I could use it for a class.

Does not work on metal
I'm giving this a five even though I have, what will sound like, a negative review. This stuff works, and probably well for what it is intended to work on, but I bought it for something completely different so, I want to warn anyone thinking of doing the same thing to STOP, don't try it. This stuff is made for silk screening, and having done a lot of silk screening in my day, I'm very confident it will work fine for that. It doesn't work on metal though. I knew this going in, but I really didn't want to buy a whole big roll of photosensitive film for the small project I am doing. This was cheap and I figured even though I wasn't going to use it all, it would be cheaper than buying a giant roll of film for twice the price and not using it. I don't etch all that much. When I do, I primarily etch copper or brass for model parts. I can go five years before that is necessary since I can also cast or machine small parts. But, very rarely, I need more detail than either casting or machining can provide; then I need photo etching. I thought I could make this work, but the emulsion just won't stick that well to metal, no matter how well you clean it or prep it. I tried 4x before giving up. I'm ordering the more expensive photosensitive film and trying to figure out what I need to silk screen. Also, this stuff really stinks (odor wise) and I got a head ache in a well ventilated room, so I used a respirator the next time and all was good. The thing is it does come out of the wash very crisp, but there is a very thin deceiving layer left behind and you can't have that with etching. If you try to remove that, with water or a brush, it destroys the detail (on metal). I'm sure silk will prevent that over washing from happening.

Don’t waste your money
This product was defective. I followed the directions exactly to add water to the amount of half of the photo sensitizer bottle. Then mixed the photo sensitizer into the emulsion. I mixed it very well. I let it sit for a few hours before I used it. I coated three screens with it and let them dry. I set the screens in the sun with the stencils on top. It only takes a few minutes for exposure, or at least it should. No exposure at all. I have been doing screen prints for years. This is the first time with this product with no success. I would not recommend this product. Wasted my money on this.

Great emulsion, probably not a great idea for first-timers/beginners.
Easy to use, thick enough to stick well to the Speedball silk screen that I used it with. The design I was using also had some pretty thin lines (few millimeters thick) and the emulsion still worked well enough to print those thin lines. Also got this because I read reviews saying that it's easy to wash off with a basic bleach solution. I haven't tried this yet, so I can't verify, but it's definitely a perk to not have to use another chemical to wash off the emulsion.. It's not 4 stars though because it took quite a bit of time to fully dry/process (like 6 hours). Not sure if that was my fault with the light I was using being too weak, or if the emulsion just doesn't process quickly.

Don't give up
So I bought this for the price, I could not afford to have tablets imprinted with my logo for an upcoming convention, so I decided to DIY it. First, I tried the suggestion of one of the reviewers with the halogen work light removing the glass and cage, but that did not work. Then after a lot of cursing and youtubing, I purchased this UV light 100W UV Black Light, Blacklight Flood Light with Plug and Switch, Black Light for Glow Party, Wavelength 385-400nm Purple Lights for Halloween/Christmas Dance Party Disco Night Club Fluorescent Keeping my screens in a very dark place, and doing the setup in the dark, I had my light source 12" above my screen and exposed for exactly one minute. It turned out perfectly. I could not have asked for better results. There was also no wash off from the rest of the screen. I will buy this the next time I have to do screen printing. To the manufacturer of this product, thank you for making a good product at an affordable price.

This Stuff Works!
When you read reviews and you see ones that just give it 1 star and say it just junk and doesn't work at all, it should tell you that either they happen to get the one bad batch or they just don't really know what they are doing. This is my first attempt ever at screening. I read a researched a lot and took my and still made mistakes but the results of the first screen worked great! The biggest mistake I made, and I assume many others are too by reading the reviews, is applying too much emulsion on the screen and not coating it evenly. I watched videos and read other instructions and they talk about how it will drip; you should NOT be applying so much that it drips!! As you can see my first attempt dripped all over the place and the coating was spotty. I was able to get it to work but that needed a lot of improvement. Heavy and uneven coatings also cause a lot of issues with proper exposure. My second attempt I used much less emulsion when applying it with a good brush and just kept doing all-up, all-down, all-left, and all-right strokes until it was very evenly covered. It's really hard to see in the second photo because I was still in the dark room (not exposed yet), but the coating is almost perfect. Not one drip. It will take a lot less exposure time also. Bottom line, this stuff works and works well if you know what you are doing. Nothing I hate more than reviews that are tainted with negative results making me afraid of a product when in actuality it's just their own deficiencies. I do appreciate those real reviews and those that take the time to write a real review.

So far so good
I feared I'd get an leaked jar of emulsion, but it was packaged in a bubble mailer, inside another mailer. I do find it odd the company doesn't put a seal on the top of the jar, like inks, and other things, so make sure you don't tilt when opening. As with other emulsions, I wish the container would have a half way mark or a unit of measure to go by. if it was made out of a material that is easier to see through that'd help. All mixed and ready to go.. Curious to see how this goes after using ulano proclaim for years.. I was out, I was in a pinch, and it is for a small project. I was able to coat 5 17x21 screens and had some left over. Not sure what to think. it went on great. I exposed it more than enough (500w, 15-20 min, from 18inch), yet after 1 clean up, the emulsion started washing off. I still have 2 screens coated and in the darkroom, but i now missed my deadline for the project. will have to research it more.. I guess I should have stuck with proclaim.
