What I mean by that is that the doorbell sense people really fast and if the it's set up for that, you'll get a notification for every person that passes by your house. I had to set the sensor to the lowest level, and even with that it still so good at detecting people. Also, there's no need to put the SD card into the Chime, just place it into the doorbell and you have the recordings available on your phone through the app. But if you want to you can put one into the Chime, but that means you'll have to buy 2 SD cards. But everyone is different. Anyway, this is one good doorbell and the price range is acceptable compared to others. Regarding the battery, I only lost 1% so far and it has been on for 5 days. So is going to be a while till the battery runs out of juice. And to avoid any headaches, i bought a second battery as a backup when i need to charge the first one. Highly recommend. ### โญโญโญโญ Good performance with no recurring fees *by M***G on 21 December 2021* The product comes very well packed, with everything you may need to mount it on either wood or brick surface. The product USP is that it doesnโ€™t require any costly Cloud Storage for recorded footage ( recurring cost/ privacy). Instead there is a 16GB memory card mounted in the inside Wi-Fi Door Ring module (WDR). Footage recorded is accessible through an app. The supplied ( multilingual) instructions are clear and intuitive. 1. Installation. Installation is in three parts, the WDR, the Doorbell (DB) itself and a Smartphone application which needs to be downloaded and configured with an online user account. Do this first! WDR plugs into any power outlet, in an area with good Wi-Fi connection. WDR connection to existing Wi-Fi network is easy to set up through the Smartphone app. There will likely be a firmware update to download.. Once WDR is configured, add DB to the online account through the app (clear guidance provided through the app). Once again, a firmware update for DB will likely be available and should be installed. Next, fully charge DB through USB. Carefully install DB outside your entrance while maintaining good connection to both WDR and Wi-Fi. Follow positioning guidance given in the manual/app. 2 Performance. 2K video is very good but not excellent. Video enhancement available is WDR only, not HDR. Built in human recognition in DB is a pretty good attempt, but not at all 100% accurate. Personally, I have turned it off and use the setting โ€œ detect all eventsโ€, in combination with a carefully set detection zone. Your experience talking to a caller depends on connection/ bandwidth but, in common with similar devices, there will likely be some lagging effect and distortion of sound. 3. Opinion. This device is well put together. Installation is clear. Performance is good. You save recurring fees for cloud storage and preserve privacy.
