Amazing value for top quality blows my other illuminated gaming keyboard out of the water.
I have had this keyboard for a week now. It is relatively quiet, in fact the keys are very quiet with a slight soft impact sound when they spring back up after being pressed down EXCEPT for one key which is considerably noisy...The Space Bar. When this space bar springs back up after being pressed it has a much louder impact sound and being the most common key, this is can potentially be an annoying repetitive sound to neighbouring colleagues/family. But in terms of feel and comfort, this keyboard feels so lovely, the keys have a sensual tactile feel and curvature and the whole thing just has an air of quality to it. The weight of this keyboard is a whole 1kg and the heftiness is very re-assuring when I either type or play games. It would take a lot of rage while perhaps trying and failing QTE (Quick Time Events) in Tomb Raider to budge this keyboard. The metal frame has a steampunk aura about it and I absolutely love that. It's hands down the coolest keyboard I have ever owned. Many gaming keyboards look garish or too techy but this is so cool. Prior to this, I had purchased an illuminated keyboard, Rii RK100 and comparing this to that, the higher quality of KLIM Lightning is considerably obvious. I've already mentioned KLIM's rock solid metal frame whereas the RK100 was bendable. The RK100 was sloppily spray painted over the whole keyboard in one go as you could see the spray paint on the keyboard base between all the keys which looked pretty ugly. NOT the case here. The keys are clearly individually painted before mounted onto the board, so the base is clean revealing a lovely lit interior. Basically if KLIM and RK100 were in a boxing ring, KLIM wins by a knockout in the second round. I bought this keyboard mainly for it's illumination of keys, not for looks but because I like to type and play games in the dark and I hate having a desk lamp to illuminate my "dark" keyboards. The illumination is excellent, and I Iove the choice of 7 colours. I find that the colour that really punches the clarity of the characters is the yellow lighting (or it could be a very light green). One drawback with all illuminated keyboards is that upper rows have a striped shadow on them so the symbols on the numbers row can be hard to make out. But the yellow light helps to identify them a little more than the other lighting modes. There is a breathing mode which cycles through all the colours but that's not my cup of tea. The lighting can also be set at five levels of brightness. I have it set at third level of brightness. All the lighting adjustments are done with simple key presses. Gaming-wise, I have played Shadows of the Tomb Raider, Mass Effect 3 and Quantum Break with this keyboard so far. It feels great. I feel no lag and multiple key presses feel very responsive with no missed presses. Excellent. If I have one gripe, it is that the bottom row feels a tad high. On closer inspection I realise that the keyboard has a slight "bowl" shape so that the bottom row of keys are raised slightly higher than the row above and that row above is raised slightly higher than the middle row which is the lowest seated row, then the upper rows step upwards in height again. The surface of all the keys curve towards that middle row. An interesting design that actually gives it elegance but I feel it is at the sacrifice of achieving maximum comfort. I must stress however, that I don't feel any discomfort but I think I would have felt more comfortable with the keys more levelled. The keyboard has the standard flip out legs to tilt the keyboard but because of the bottom rows elevated design, I would have appreciated higher tilt leverage. But as I say this really is my only gripe. It doesn't hamper my typing significantly as I type this review but I just simply feel the comfort could have been slightly compromised with this design. But this depends on how far away you have the keyboard from your body. I tend to have my keyboard quite away from me as I type. If you tend to have keyboards closer to you then this might be a non-issue for you. One more thing I absolutely appreciate, is that this keyboard is a genuine British PHYSICAL layout keyboard. There are way too many keyboards that claim to be "UK layout" but in actuality what you find is an American PHYSICAL layout with British labelling on the keys, which is naughty mismarketing in my book. This is important. As the American physical layout keyboard has a small one row height ENTER key with the hash key above it. The British physical keyboard has a bigger two rows height ENTER key. I am happy to confirm this is a genuine British physical keyboard so you are guaranteed to hit that ENTER key and not the hash key, if of course you are used to typing on British physical layout keyboard. Normally I don't talk about the presentation of packaging but I have to make an exception here. KLIM, as they have advertised in their promotional video, are a young company in France started in 2015. But they are also the funniest company I have ever bought tech from. As I open the product box, the quality of packing has a loving care to it, with a silver embossed thick black envelope containing some nice stickers...and a note. The note is hilarious. It begins with a standard hope of my enjoying the product but then it continues to describe how my order was specifically treated throughout it's whole journey and as I continued to read...it got crazier and crazier until my sides were splitting with laughter. I won't spoil it, if you are going to buy this keyboard, just make sure to read the note and enjoy a bonus experience. So this company has wit and a mischievous one at that. That certainly stunted me as it's not exactly a factor I ever imagined to be a consideration for a keyboard and of course it still isn't but I sure like their persona! Oh and they give a five year warranty...so they have wacky wit, presentation and confidence. Of course they need to have good products and apart from my gripe on the curvature design, this keyboard impresses me no end at such an affordable price (I bought this for £30 but it feels like a £50-£60 product) and I hope KLIM are there to stay. I give this a 4.5/5 which I will round up to five stars. Highly recommended.

Review of both keyboard & my customer service experience of KLIM when I had a problem.
My keyboard review is below, but what I really wanted to review was KLIM as a company; specifically their customer service team. KLIM have literally the best customer service I have ever received from any company in my whole life. They were friendly, understanding, went above and beyond what I expected ANY company to do, and are refunding my keyboard after well over a year, just on my word that the power cord was slightly faulty from the start & got worse over time until I couldn't use it. I just put it under my bed when it stopped working where it stayed for maybe 3 months. A friend saw it, asked about it, & said I should ask for a refund, which I thought was NOT going to happen given how long I had owned the keyboard, but how wrong I was. They aren't even making me return the keyboard during the pandemic, & were extremely accomodating when I told them I'd had a seizure and broken two ribs when I fell two weeks prior (I appear to have nothing wrong with me so I got real lucky). I also got real lucky with KLIM's team because Lolita, the product expert/customer service team member who was assigned my problem is refunding me the full 100% of the cost of the board AND gave me a code for 10% off of any KLIM product. I fully intend to keep using the company for all of my peripherals & will buy a KLIM mouse & mouse pad with the refund. I sound like a shill here, but I usually only leave reviews when something bad happens. LOL, this is the first time I have felt the need to praise a company to this extent! Thanks Lolita, and good job KLIM. The keyboard was great, unfortunately it had a faulty power lead connector & kept turning on and off (this started after a couple of months but I didn't think it was the keyboard at the time, but my hella old PC. Unfortunately it got worse and was unusable after less than a year. I will still get a new one when they come back into stock though, as I was assured this has never happened, which I actually believe. I have several KLIM products & found them ALL to be of high quality and at a lower price than their rivals. I also like the fact that they a European company. I want to support European firms, & KLIM is a European tech success story.
