a very comfortable shoe

I love the shoes but had to return the size 40 for a 41. I wear an 8.5 medium to a 9 and I ordered the size 40 which I usually wear in Euro sizing and what I normally wear in other Viscata shoes. However, in this particular shoe, I had to order the 41. There wasn't any noticeable difference between the 40 and 41 in terms of width or instep but it gave me about 1/2 inch extra in length which helps because bending my foot pushed my toes into the front of the shoe. I still hope they stretch out a bit. I don't have a wide foot but I must say that these shoes are designed to fit a more narrow foot with a low instep. The elastic cutout on top of the shoe sort of pinches my skin a bit and bothers me butI have put lotion on to help with that irritation until they stretch out. The insole is bare 'rope' but it doesn't bother me in the least bit. It's sort of fluffed up and smooth/soft so it's not rough.UPDATE June 7 2014I must confess that I regret purchasing this style of Viscata. I found a similar style of viscata on ebay that didn't have the elastic V insert and they are MUCH more comfortable to me than these are . I ordered the same size 41 in the other style and they feel like comfy cool slippers unlike these that feel too tight and hot. The elastic insert really annoys me because it's still pinching the top of my foot every time I take a step. These shoes are made for very thin and narrow feet. I'm normally a size 8.5 and I had to purchase the size 10 which is Viscata 41 and I still feel that they are just too constricting. Wish I could return them but I don't have the box.

Slightly tight at 1st but once worn a perfect fit. I have a narrow foot so they maybe tight for someone with a wider foot. Comfortable, would purchase again. I like the idea that the company will recycle the shoes when you are finished wearing them.

Fits great, classic look, comfortable espadrille! Stays on my foot and does not annoy me in the heel area like others have. Well made, great quality. Would definitely recommend!!

fitting : ordered Size 8 ..first week was tight coz I have bunion and after a while it wasStretching out. I can stand more than 8 hours with this shoes no sock and my feet didn’t smell at all 👏..( depend how ur feet adjusted) I am really rough with this shoes as I use it forMy daily walk for 8 hours per day for 3 days in the row but sheSurvived lol. Oh even better if you have high arch put extra dr.school arch lifting inside.

I have a narrow foot and I am a size 7 1/2 and sometimes size 8 in shoes. I ordered the size 8 and it fit too loose so i returned and ordered the size 7. The size 7 fit perfectly and I love wearing them to work with midi dresses. They are fabulous summer chic shoes. Just adore them and i feel so summery while wearing them. I have the black color and will now order the white! Loove them!

I love the look of these espadrille flats; but I must say the fabric gave in and ripped right above my toe nail area (my nails are not even long!) I've only have them for about 3 months now and don't wear them that often either. I was hoping these flats will last longer given the price they cost.

I love these espadrilles but the fit is very small. Neither the 40 or 41 were long enough in the fit. I have worn a 40 for years, without issues, but these are undersized. A real shame because the quality is lovely

I was quite surprised when the shoes arrived. They looked quite pleasingly different than the photo shows. I tried them on and was again pleasantly surprised at how comfortable they are. I bought them as a replacement for some similar shoes that I had worn out. I am so glad that I did as they are much better than the shoes they have replaced. I highly recommend these shoes.
