Review: Worth the squeeze - So I see a bunch of other radios that are 100% identical to this one on desertcart. They run a bit cheaper, but look the same. I went with the name brand version even though other companies probably just stamp their name on it at the same factory. So maybe go with one of its identical predecessors if you are tight on funds. Anyway, the radio is very very loud for its size. It's a little smaller than a loaf of bread. The power cable is very tight when inserting it into the radio so be cautious when doing so. The signal never drops, due to the large antenna. If you are looking for a nice radio for a good price this one is worth it.
Review: Nice sound - Perfect. Reminds me of the good old days. Loud and great sound. Its not Dolby Atmos but it definitely does the job. Simple to operate and very portable.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Radio reception is inconsistent and affected by several factors.**
A: Compared to FM, AM radio tends to cover a much larger area. The time of day also plays affects reception. Generally, reception will be better after sunset, when it is not unusual to hear AM stations from hundreds of miles away.

**Q: Reception of local stations is intermittent and sound is inferior, with a lot of static and tinny sound quality.**
A: FM stations offer better sound quality, but FM stations' range is much smaller compared to AM stations. Moving the radio to a different position will often improve the reception. In some rural areas there. May be no FM stations.

**Q: Sound quality not good -- there is a lot of background static.**
A: It’s very important to note that many electronic devices in your home can emit electronic interference that makes listening to distant / weaker stations more difficult. Do not place your radio next to other electronic devices.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Perfect Garage or Kitchen Radio That Can Also Travel With You
*by B***U on August 27, 2026*

I've had this radio for years. It still sounds and works as great as the day it arrived. This is the perfect garage/office/kitchen radio that sits up on a shelf out of the way. Stations come in crystal clear on both the AM and FM side of the dial. The volume and sound quality are both great. Using it is simple. Turn it on when you want it on. Turn it off to turn it off. There are dials for volume and tuning. A button allows you to switch between AM or FM. That's it. The tuning knob has surprisingly delicate touch and sensitivity, allowing you to really "dial in" the station, an experience that is lost with digital tuners and often overlooked on cheaper analog models. It's probably the radio's best feature, alongside its sound quality. Admittedly, it's not the most feature-packed radio. In addition to no digital tuner, there are also no memory banks to save stations. No sleep function or alarm. No Bluetooth or SD card slot. Good! You probably don't need any of that and models that try to pack every imaginable feature into one small radio often don't do any of them very well. The interface becomes complicated or tedious to use. They also burn through battery life unnecessarily. You just want to listen to news, tunes or talk and that's what this does. Probably the fanciest thing about it is that you can use it either plugged in or pop in some batteries and take it with you to the park or on a road trip. It works great either way. Good value. Highly recommended.
