I bought the preemie size. My baby went home at 5 lbs 12oz and just under 20" these fit only SLIGHTLY large for her size. the shoulders slide off to one side, not fully but just enough to see that it's a tad too wide. The fabric stays stretched out after a few hours of wear, leaving it a little baggy in the arms and bottom. On the upside these will fit a little longer than the normal preemie sizes, perfect for while she is in that odd in between of preemie and newborn fit
