Tight fit, but quality is great. Intermediate to advanced DIY project.
I got this top for my 1998 BMW Z3. The process of removing the old top is almost as much work as installing the new one! It is certainly a DIY project, but you need some tools and patience. Instructions are lacking, but a great 2 part video is out that shows you exactly how to remove the old one and install the new one. The one I got had the plastic retainers, some others seemed to not have those. I got the Dark Beige TwillFast II version. Good Luck!

Great fit and functionality!
We bought this for my husband's 1999 Z3. The green color is great and he installed it himself. It took a couple of days but he said it wasn't back at all. He does recommend watching a lot of YouTube videos if you want to change it yourself.

Good value for the money
Overall, I am satisfied with this top. The quality is good. Nice sturdy, thick material. This was my first attempt at putting a soft top on any vehicle. I had probably 16 hours into the entire project. Being a 25 year old car and the second replacement. I had some challenges getting it ready for the new top. I don’t think I stretched it tight enough upon installation as it is a little saggy, but I don’t necessarily think that’s a reflection of the top may be just my learning curve I wish there had been better instructions or a video walking me through how to get the tension just right. At this point, I am afraid to go back and try to tighten it. There are a couple differences between this and the OEM top: there are no sewn-in plastic pieces on the side edges like the OEM. It’s all fabric. But everything seemed to work OK it doesn’t leak and it’s a lot better than the previous top that had no back window and was dry rotted. I rarely drive with the top up, so honestly, this is just an emergency feature if I run into rain. If you DIY this job, find some videos on YouTube (I found a great tutorial by the YouTuber “Maine Jason”), watch it entirely before you start, and take your time doing the job. If you are replacing on a 20+ year old Z3, you will almost certainly need to replace the tension straps ($190 was best price I could find). Expect to spend another $100+ in various tools & supplies needed to do the job.

Looks original
This is a great replacement top for my Z3. Take your time to do the job correctly and you will be very pleased with the results. I also put a waterproof spray on the new top so water beads up, but it's not necessary.

Garbage product
Oversized and undersized at the same time. Very poor fit. Asked for a refund. They asked for pictures and I sent them these. Then they ghosted me. Would not recommend. Stay away. Waste of money. Buy OEM.

Best upgrade ever
Install takes two people and is a pain, but WORTH it. This looks like factory canvas. Great fit. Be sure to buy butyl rubber and NEW plastic mold that goes around the rear of the top bc it WILL break apart and trying to patch it together for reuse is a pain. Great top

Fits well
IF YOU HAVE A GARAGE and the ability to work on this at your leisure it is not a difficult task .. I did mine over a week .. all you need is a nice staple gun, some adhesive spray and patience .. do a little and let it stretch .. some more ... stretch .. etc etc .. don't be afraid .. try it 👍👍

Well it's on, looks good
Was surprised it was missing some to me vital parts. As the video showes it had plastic mounts integrated around the corners that screwed in where this just had fabric and had to be glued excessively not install friendly. Also the support bar area for the back window was just stitched fabric as the original one had a thin long aluminum piece that slid in a fabric sleeve that kept the window straight. Just not sure it was worth the extra money with the selection of tops out there so hopefully I'll get my money's worth and not have it done again for awhile. Other than that it appears to be durable and has a nice water repellent on it and it's nice to see out the back window again.
