American DJ M-502L 12 Inch Mirror Ball Kit With Motor 2 Pinspots And Gels

I was really impressed with this disco ball set up. Bought it for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. She loved it - installed easily, we mounted the 2 lights on her wall and the disco ball on the ceiling - very cool - motor is quite, turns nice and smooth. With average use - I expect it to last a long time.. I may buy another motor set up and 2 more lights just for the play area in the basement - they (both my girls) love to dance - this adds alot of fun for the kids for sure.

I bought this set for my (just turned) 8 year old daughter for Christmas, and I think this was ***THE*** present this year. My 3.5 year old son loves it too. The ball is much lighter than I thought it would be (which is a good thing) but still seems solid & well made. There were no broken mirrors or other issues. We have a tile-type ceiling in our basement, so I screwed the motor to a board and popped up one of the tiles and slipped the board in so it sits across the frame (I'm glad one of the other reviewers mentioned this - I'm not sure what I would have expected, but probably would have thought I'd be able to hang the motor on a hook). The lights also seem to be good quality, but it's only been a week, so no experience with them burning out yet.My only complaint (and the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that like other reviewers have posted, the motor spins too fast for my liking (the box says 5 rpms). I'd say 2 or 3 rpms would be better. It does make me a little dizzy, but it doesn't seem to bother the kids at all, so I guess that's alright. Motors are pretty cheap, so maybe I'll buy another one sometime.My daughter's birthday party is in a couple of weeks and she is *beside* herself with excitement about the dance party they're going to have!

The pinspot lights didn't work, even after I went out and purchased new fuses for them and the mirrors fall off the ball. Not so good..

It is an ok disco ball. It works fine and does as its supposed to, especially for the price. The pinspots that are included are very large and chunky and produce more of a yellow light rather than a white L.E.D. light. I know because when I turn it off and the ball is still spinning I shined a LED mini maglight and got exactly what I was looking for. The lights included also get VERY hot in a short amount of time. Lastly, the motor spins very fast with no way to slow it down or regulate it. Gets very trippy, very fast, a little too much...If you are looking for more of that star gazing, universe, prom night white light than I would probable go with a kit that has LED lights instead. Since this is my first disco ball purchase and setup, if I were to do it all over again I would probably purchase the Adkins Disco Ball kit with the LED pinspots. It seems to have more of the lights that I would want in a setup.

Won't go wrong with this. We love it!! Took a little time to get up but the party was sweet!!

DO NOT BUY if you are affected easily by light changes!I'm sure you've read many other comments that say this thing spins way too fast and they are all correct! I even purchased the American Dj M-Hdac8 3 Rpm Mirror Ball Motor which is supposed to slow the ball down but we still had to turn it off after 20min because it was making our party goers dizzy and sick to their stomachs. It is also not as easy to set-up as it claimed to be, you have to be very careful by making sure the Pinspots are not to close but not to far. It should come with 3-4 Pinspots for better coverage. I guess the only positive comment I can make is at least it wasn't very expensive.

Great disco ball. My GF loves it. Great size, nice colors. Everythings perfect !!!
