This is quite a versatile piece of kit and I’d imagine everyone will use it differently. But I’m using it to mount my iPad Pro 11” over my head in a suitable & ergonomic position. I didn’t even know such a product existed but after months and maybe years of frustration, dropping my iPad on my face & arms aches, I finally typed in “iPad bed holder” into Amazon and this was the first thing I stumbled upon along with many similar looking ones. I brought this plainly because of the 10k+ reviews it had compared to everything else. It does the job. I don’t have a headboard on my tiny single bed but luckily have a little bedside table that I’ve mounted it on it, and it’s on pretty solid. I initially tried attaching it to my lamp (pictured) but the clamp wasn’t grippy enough and it’d just angle down, although it didn’t come off all together. So I definitely wouldn’t recommend mounting the clamp in a vertical position, make sure you have a horizontal mounting position. The neck is very stiff and hard to adjust, but that’s fine, there’s no way it’ll hold the weight of the iPad otherwise. I’d probably not move it tbh, except take the iPad on and off the mount. So it maybe a bit of an eye sore. But I’d use it every night, as I read or consume videos before I sleep every night, so it’s worth it for me. I’d also be not adjusting the necks too much once I’ve got it in place because is the most fragile part, as most reviewers have experienced theirs breaking after a couple of months. I’m hoping that won’t be the case for me since I won’t be moving it, let’s see. Also, as others reviewers have said, the white part of the neck is even more fragile / thinner, than the rest of the neck, so prone to breaking, and should probably avoid twisting and turning that bit. As pictured, this can handle the weight of my iPad without drooping or loosing tension, so far, it’s only day 1. If it fails or weakens before the Amazon return window is closed, I will be returning it and updating this review. So far so good!

This is an amazingly strong piece of kit that holds my phone or my iPad in a perfect position to use for picture reference next to my artwork.. I can also use it for drawing out artwork as it holds the images so completely steady. Very well made & the adjustable arm is so strong, it will hold anything in place without sagging or drooping. Would recommend this product for anyone who is an artist or who needs to take photos of small items or close up images.

Bracket is strong enough and has a good range of adjustment. Only downside is the arm isn’t strong enough to hold my iPad up, but we can work around that. All in all, would recommend. Ideal for camping etc

The goose neck is very stiff, apart from the bit closest to the device, which is more flexible. It's definitely not going to droop any time soon and stays in place well, but because the neck is so stiff, when adjusting it sideways, the screw-on clamp tends to also move sideways, and gradually works its way loose, however much I tighten it. The clamp is nice and big and has thick padding, but also has a thick post going through it, so it only holds on with the front 4 cm or so. You would think that would be enough, but mine is fixed to a glass table top, and I either have to hold the clamp in place while adjusting or open and re-position it afterwards. I also tried it on my kitchen worktop, which the clamp opens just wide enough to accommodate (4 cm), and it slips sideways there, too, when adjusting it sideways. Fine adjustment using just the white part closest to the device is fine, but if like me, you need to be able to move the whole thing out of the way sideways, it can be a bit annoying. If you intend to position this and leave it in place, with just fine adjustment, it's great. The gooseneck is a decent length, about 78 cm. The part that holds the device is very good, nice and firm, but easy to open due to the string grip. My ipad feels securely held, have no concerns that it could fall out.. The part holding the device opens between 12 - 22 cm, so will fit a wide range of devices. Overall, it feels well made and sturdy, so still gave 5 stars and would recommend. I think it might hold better with slightly harder or rougher padding on the clamp..

UPDATE: Well, here we are a few months down the line and what do you know, the bendy bit of metal from the gooseneck part to the clamp has broken. I suspected it might, as it's just bendy metal. Eventually that will snap due to bending stress, as it's not a gooseneck. So it's useless now. Avoid!Quite a well made thing, actually, and I wasn't expecting it to look cool, but I think it's quite stylish. It works by being incredibly stiff. There's no other way to make such a gooseneck work with an iPad hanging off it, especially at full stretch. Awkward as that is, it's better than it being too loose, which would render it useless. So it works - which is good. You can read/watch your iPad in bed, with it either clipped to the headboard (largely dependent on you headboard - you need something close to head level that it can clip on to (less than a few centimetres thick) or a table to the side of you that won't tip over with the weight stretched out away from it.The other thing to know is that it makes the iPad really wobble after handling it. You have to kind of 'calm it down' every time you tap the screen without steadying it with the other hand. Just the nature of the beast, unfortunately.Does what I wanted, though, so pleased with it in general.

I bought this product when looking for a versatile holder for a device to mostly watch videos and to play casual mobile games, fairly gentle usage. When the product arrived it fit my phone and tablet perfectly fine and had the strength to hold both without the arm bending under the weight.However, the plastic ring holding the leather sheath to the base was broken upon arrival. At the time I thought nothing of this as it did not seem to compromise the structural integrity of the arm and worked exactly how I wanted. After a few weeks of use I noticed the arm beginning to sag during a YouTube viewing and then promptly breaking. Upon inspection, the interior metal pipe had snapped completely.It is my thinking that this snapping was due to the initial separation of the plastic ring which allowed the arm near the base to bend more than it should which led to the eventual failure of the joint. After being unable to contact the seller I thought the best option would be to leave a review requesting a replacement if possible. This product was great while it lasted and I believe the only reason for the catastrophic failure was the fault out of the box and maybe if I had brought it up with the seller then this wouldn’t haveoccurred.I feel five stars would be in order for this great product if only I hadn’t received a faulty item in the beginning and would wholly recommend this as well as getting straight in contact with the seller if you also experience this issue.UPDATE -Just came home to a surprise parcel, a replacement! This one is perfect and I’m certain will last. Couldn’t be more appreciative of the goodwill of this company and great customer service, they obviously care about their customers. po 1,5 roku od zakupu cos sie zlamalo w srodku i kompletnie nie trzyma, jesli ktos ma zamiar uzywać do trzymania tableta nie polecam (ze wzgledu na ciezar malo wytrzymale)

Super content de ce produit après une grosse semaine d'essai. Assez rigide sur la plus grand partie maintient très bien un iPad 9,7" et maléable dans la partie finale vraiment bien vu, la pince fonctionne très bien avec bonne prise en main pour serrer et desserré . Top pour lire et regarder des films, je ne m'en passe plus.6 mois après la partie malléable est casée, quel dommage la fragilité viens de là. le reste est solide je vais essayer de le réparer mais c'est pas gagné.
