Creative Ideas for Garnishing & Decorating

I should have known better! I am a chef and culinary educator for a culinary school in NC, and was looking for books to use in the classroom. All I wanted was a good UPDATED book with nice pics to show students some ideas as we work in the class labs. This book was a MASSIVE disappointment. This stuff is so 70's and 80's and just old outdated junk no one uses anymore. If you are going to cater 5 year olds birthday parties, or are just now working the kitchens on a Carnival Cruise boat, sure you may get some use out of this. If you are a true commercial kitchen professional, save your money, this book is a joke. I would not recommend this book to anyone, not even the curious home cook! I did not want to spend any more money returning, so I am going to give it as a gift to the local high school culinary program.

This book is VERY, very basic and juvenile. I would not recommend this for adults nor could I recommend this for anyone who is in any way related to the profession of food. The "ideas" are so basic as to really just being embarrassing. There is literally not one thing that I got out of this book or that I could use.

Great book, it give me bunch of idea on how I can make my dish presentation better. I recommend this for all starting in the Culinary industry.

I bought this book for my husband, who is starting a catering business and wants to improve his plating and garnishing skills. This book is full of ideas, from simple to complicated, for a variety of garnishes. My husband is very pleased with it.

Brilliant - i must have at least a dozen or more books on food presentation. This is def by far one of the best. It has simple step by step recipes and loads of photos. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend it. Make a lovely present as well
