Each blanket is individually wrapped, and folded nice and tight. 5 of them weigh quite a bit more then I expected. Unfortunately I do not have the means for an official measurement of weight. If you are super weight conscious in your BOB, I would not pack extras - only one for each person. I have a camping trip planned in a few weeks. Fall temps in WI can be unpredictable, but it is possible to hit zero overnight. Most likely, low 30's. I will use one of these for at least one night and report back. I update all my reviews as need be. 9.23.15***UPDATE*** I took one of these camping, and did devote one entire night to it. Keep in mind I had a tarp on the ground, tent on the tarp, and slept on top of my sleeping bag. When I went to bed I was all ready toasty warm from the fire and brandy, the temp was mid 50's (F). By first light, it was down to 36. I was PLENTY warm. BUT - this thing is noisy! Crinklecrinklecrinkle!!! Also, because it has no weight to it, you have to keep in tucked under your body to prevent cold air from creeping underneath it. However - neither of these complaints can be held against it as this is for survival. I am confident this would aide in my survival, and I would be glad I had it. It would certainly suffice until the fire is lit, shelter is built, better materials are found, etc....

The first 5 arrived and I was happy with the size and quantity and decided to place ...
I ordered 5 sets of these so that I could test the quality and size before placing a larger order for 80 sets. The first 5 arrived and I was happy with the size and quantity and decided to place the larger order. I received two separate shipments for these, one box of 16, just like the first 5 I received, and another box with the remaining 64 that were a completely different thing. They were smaller by several inches along the top and sides, and had different packaging. I weighed the two different kinds and the smaller ones weigh 20% less than the larger ones. Other than size they appear to be the same thing. Beware though, on the official description there is no size listed, and now I think I know why.

Good for traveling in space! And, protecting stuff...
I have a vinyl record collection that is sensitive to heat, light and air, but it is so bulky I need to store it in a shed outside. I needed to shield them from the elements, so I bought these to line the boxes- and it worked great! The temperature this summer reached over 100 degrees, but when I opened the boxes to feel the temperature, they were cool and protected. So aside from emergency purposes, these are great for a lightweight method of protecting stored valuables.

Can never have to many of these
the versatility of this product is unmatched, this item has just as many uses as duck tape. I keep them in my car, house, boat and camping gear because you never know when you might need cover. It provides warmth, is water proof, reflects 80% of your body heat and can also reflect the suns heat so it's a must have for a travel pack. Get some practice making a shelter, first aid for shock victims, joining 2 or more to cover equipment and the list goes on.... So get a few and keep them around

So much in such a little package
I keep one of these in each vehicle in an emergency box...towels, extra gloves, kitty litter, flashlights and these thermal 'blankets'. I have used them several times and they are quick and easy to use and feather light. Last year we had bitter cold for several weeks and I had a flash of genius: I put a couple of these over the largest doors to act as a thermal barrier to the radiant cold. Worked like a charm.

Works
I agree with other reviewers. I put one on my bed for a couple of nights, and it really did increase the warmth. I woke up sweaty. I removed it because of the noise every time I moved, though. Maybe when it gets cold this winter I'll try it again. The rest of the pack I have set aside for emergency use.

Great for a small survival kit or winter car kit.
These mylar blankets are great in many ways but also have some shortcomings. Note that these shortcomings are just a result of the product being what it is and in no way is because of a lack of quality in the product. The pros are that this is a very small and light weight way to have some form of warmth and shelter in an emergency situation. The cons are that because it is so thin, it lacks the duribility to be used multiple times. If you are very careful you could reuse this several times but it will likely tear and when it does it will be hard to keep the tear from spreading. I keep one of these in each of my vehicles so that I can keep warm if I stall in the winter. I also keep one in a small survival kit I wear on my belt in the woods. Overall this is a great tool to use in an emergency, and for the price you can't go wrong.

great for your emergency kit
These are great for your emergency kit - take no space to store. Or - just place under your bottom sheet in the winter - really warms the bed up with just body heat reflection.

A lot for the price - mylar emergency blankets - do what they're meant to do
Look good and there are more blankets than I realized. Fifteen in total which is a good amount for the price. Putting them in our bug out bags.
