Included components of the Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor Pulse controlled buttons Why Is This The Perfect Mini Processor For You? The Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor handles a variety of food preparation tasks including chopping, grinding, purรฉeing, emulsifying and blending. The patented auto-reversing SmartPower blade provides a super-sharp edge for the delicate chopping of herbs and for blending and purรฉeing other soft foods. The blunt edge offers a powerful cutting surface to grind through spices and other hard foods. Pulse activation gives maximum control for precision processing, whether chopping or grinding. Spatula, product manual and recipe booklet included. Using Your Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor The powerful high-speed 250-Watt motor works hard and fast to accomplish any small job with ease. Chop herbs, onions, garlic; grind spices, hard cheese, purรฉe baby foods; blend mayonnaise and flavored butters, all with the same compact appliance. The Mini-Prep Plus Processor takes up minimum counter space and stores neatly on the countertop or in a cabinet. Best Practices When Using Your Cuisinart Mini-Prep Plus Processor Size Always cut large pieces of food into smaller pieces of even size โ about 1/2-Inch. If you don't start with pieces that are small and uniform, you will not get an even chop. Quantity You donโt want to overload the 3-Cup work bowl. Use the quantities given in the included recipe section of the product manual. As a rule of thumb, remember that after being processed, food should not reach more than 2/3 of the way up the central hub of the blade assembly. Selecting the Right Operating Control Use the Chop function for chopping, purรฉeing and mixing. Itโs the best option, for example, when chopping soft, fragile food such as herbs, celery, onions, garlic and most cheeses. It is also the right choice for purรฉeing cooked vegetables, making mayonnaise and mixing salad dressing. Pulse action is best when you are using the chop function. Two or three pulses are often enough. Use the Grind function for grinding spices, and for chopping hard food such as peppercorns, seeds, chocolate and nuts. Continuous-hold action is best when you are using the grind function. Adding Liquid You can add liquids such as water, oil or flavoring while the machine is running. For example, you might want to add oil when making mayonnaise or salad dressing, or you could add vanilla or alcohol when making frozen yogurt. Pour the liquid through one of the two openings in the cover. Removing Food From the Sides of the Bowl Occasionally food will stick to the sides of the bowl as you process. Stop the machine to clear food away. After the blade has stopped moving, remove the cover, and use the spatula to scrape the food from the sides of the bowl back into the center. Cleaning and Storage Read to clean up? No problem! To simplify cleaning, rinse the work bowl, cover, and blade immediately after each use, so that food wonโt dry on them. Wash blade assembly, work bowl, cover, and spatula in warm soapy water. If you have a dishwasher, you can wash the work bowl, cover, blade assembly, and spatula on the top rack. The Mini-Prep Plus Processor stores neatly on the countertop in a minimum of space. The hidden cord storage underneath the motor base will help to keep excess cord off the countertop. Store the unit assembled to prevent loss of parts. Easily dice tomatoes in seconds! Good, but the lid eventually jammed
This little processor is great for general purpose small meals (1-2 people). It like any other Cuisinart, just smaller. We did have a problem after several months of use where the lid got jammed on to the bowl. The first time I was able to force it off with a great amount of straining. The second time, I pratically shattered the bowl and handle trying to get the lid off. I attrbute the problem to the plastic warping over time, probably heat in the dishwasher. The lid would go on with little effort, but it refuse to come off after processing something. It might be best to always wash this by hand...

Great little gadget!!
I purchased this food processor for making my own baby food. The product arrived within 2 days and I immediately put it to good use. This little appliance is perfect for small batches and very quickly pureed various fruits and vegetables. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and efficient the blade and motor are. I'm sure I'll use this for other recipes, such as salsas, once I no longer need to make baby food.Pros: quick, effiecient, easy to clean, purees uniformly, suprisingly strong motor, space saving, cute color optionsCons: none so far...

Disappointed - Use with Caution
I'm very sad to report my mini food processor is now useless, after a couple years of use. I LOVED this machine, it was so great for small jobs, even before I had a big food processor. I recently started using it to grind parmesan cheese and now the blades are completely dull. I noticed some other reviewers have cautioned against doing this, which I find frustrating considering the instruction manual tells you how to use it for this purpose. It's out of warranty and I'm not sure it's worth it to replace the blade. Very disappointed. If you buy this, be careful what you use it on, regardless of what the instructions say!

Works great for all the little jobs!
I use this little processor whenever I feel like my big one isn't necessary. This little guy works great for simple chopping and processing needs. For the most part I used it when I want to chop veggies up quickly and it handles all of that fine. I have yet to have an issue with it. Although I don't think it would handle liquid well. So be careful if you think you might want it for that. Very handy for those times you just need a little machine to get the job done.

why didnt I get one sooner?
I use this processor way more often than our large one. its convenient, easy to use and most importantly, easy to store. The only wish I have is the ability to turn it on with out having to continuously hold the button. I make hummus often(way better than Sabra:) and it requires you to blend for minutes at a time. When I use the full size processor, im able to continue prepping while its blending everything up.

Cute and Powerful
I was in need of a food processor and bought this one based on so many positive reviews. I used it over and over this weekend and couldn't be happier. Using the pulse (rather than continuous) capability enables more control over how small the pieces end up post-chopping, and the small plastic utensil is great for scraping the sides to get everything out. I have not yet used the "grind" function for spices and such, but the "chop" function is great and seriously cut down on my labor and time spent cooking this weekend.I bought mine in turquoise and absolutely love the look. It has a retro feel, but works like a dream.

Wonderful, small, powerful
Powerful little thing. I can make nut butters in this! Its capacity is pretty small, but I actually like that about it. It's not convenient when making larger recipes/batches, but for just chopping up an onion or a sauce it's absolutely perfect. The color is a bonus :)

Good Chopper, not the same as the old one...
Finally had to replace my Cuisenart old chopper (16 years old). I'm not sure it's the same quality as my old one. Seems a little flimsy. It does the job, just not the same.
