Great bit of kit at a great price delivery let it down as it arrived in the rain in a cardboard box and rather than taking the 12 paces required to put it in the covered front porch as the delivery instructions requested it was left on the back step in the rain!!! AND there was someone in but they did not knock. Not the sellers fault but the courier is letting you down

Replacement for an existing reel that was breaking apart due to age. This is much the same quality as the original, no more difficult to wire than a plug so overall entirely satisfied.

Purchased this to roll up a set of outdoor Xmas lights. Perfect. Unused Plug sockets actually give me somewhere to store the Light cable plug. The reel rotates really easily so easy to wind up the cables and is far better than any others that I have.

this is a cheap item which greatly exceeded expectations. The original drum on a 50m extension cable had broken side walls limiting its use. This was a quick and cheap replacement which returned the cable to full use. It is reasonable quality, very good taking into account the price. If you are totally at ease wiring a plug, you should be able to wire this after 30 seconds of thought around how the circuit has been created inside the drum. If you are someone who finds wiring this a challenge, I would question whether you should be wiring it in the first place. It doesn't need instructions.

Bought to replace an old cable spool which took years of abuse and could no longer do its job. Simple to wire up and is now sitting in my shed

Needed to replace an old broken reel and reuse the cable. This one looked OK and reasonable price. Not the most robust, but looks good enough for domestic use if you don't throw it about. A bit fiddly to wire and as others have said, ' some instructions would help if you're not too confident with 'electrics' . Took 50m of cable comfortably. Fine so far.

This reel was absolutely brilliant as a replacement for the one I accidentally broke very good quality
