Best propagator I have come across so far for successfully rooting and growing cuttings.
Since I have never had a problem germinating seeds without a propagator, I don't use this unit for starting seedlings. My primary use is to root and start cuttings. In the past, I have used a couple of much smaller propagators I have and covered cuttings with plastic bags to maintain humidity. The small propagators have been fine for 4-6 cuttings that were small, but didn't work for taller cuttings. The plastic bags helped, but most often the cutting lost a lot of leaves before they rooted. For all, I do use a powder rooting hormone that very much helps faster root development. I might also mention that I have been growing and propagating a variety of plants for over 50 years. This propagator is particularly helpful in rooting cuttings from woody stemmed plants. These types of cuttings can be difficult to root since they can take 8 weeks or longer to develop roots. It is essential to keep the humidity high to help the cutting maintain the leaves until it can grow enough roots to support them and to initiate new growth. This propagator maintains a humid environment while allowing circulation of fresh air through the vents.I bought the 3-tier unit that allows for taller cuttings and for more growth before removing cuttings from the propagator. I very much like that I can add tiers if needed, and the vents in each tier can be adjusted to allow more air flow or to maintain the humidity level. I also like the tiers can be disassembled for storage. Since using this propagator, none of my cuttings have wilted before rooting, and all have rooted with 100% success. What I like about this propagator is: - The base is very thick and sturdy. It doesn't bend when fully loaded. - You can use 1, 2, or 3 tiers depending on the size of cuttings and expand for growth. - Although the screws to hold the tiers together are plastic, they work well and can be finger tightened to seal the sides together. - The adjustable vents can help to retain more humidity or adjust for more air flow as cuttings develop. - The supplied clips hold the tiers together so multiple tiers can be lifted at one time. - Prevents leaf loss of cuttings due to dehydration before roots develop. - Clear dome allows light to pass through and unit can be kept under a plant light.I use this propagator when I have a large number of cuttings, and have been completely satisfied with the versatility of this unit. It is so much easier and faster to start new herb plants from cutting than from seed. So far, I have had 100% success in propagating cuttings for green sage, pineapple sage, common thyme, lemon thyme, marjoram, a few varieties of basil, outdoor bushes, and more. I am totally happy with this propagator and would recommend it.I hope this review was helpful for you. I will update this review if my opinion changes.

Works Great!
Perfect for fresh cuttings all the way to young plants. I have 3 of these and threw out all my cheap domes/trays. Works for seep propagation, clone rooting, small plants, isolating new plants before introducing to your other plants, stack the walls and use for an IPM spraying area. So many uses! Sturdy, hard plastic that does not bend or squish, air tight with clips holding each section together.

very high quality design and construction
Liked the 3 layer one so much I bought a second set for a gift. Super functional and very good-looking. Does not scratch easily. The plastic clips are a little futsy, but you can get the hang of them. I keep one in the lobby at work (horticulture) to impress visitors :) Exceeded all my expectiations.

Better than most propagators
I've used propagators on and off for several years, usually the more flimsy trays and equally flimsy short or tall domes. They do the job, but you have to put the bottom tray in something sturdy, especially with pots inside, to even think about moving them. This is definitely a step up from those and, compared to the prices I've seen some of those at - especially with the taller domes - reasonably priced imo.The bottom tray in this propagator is nice, thick plastic; very sturdy, won't twist or warp when picked up, even when filled with pots. It's got a nice lip to hold on to, so it won't slip out of your hands. The side height extender panels are easy to put together (one or both), though a bit tedious. Everything fits together well, and I like the larger size - length, width and height - of this setup compared to others out there. Well made, and should last many years. What kept me from giving 5 stars are minor grievances, but they are small things that could make this a truly great setup for the homeowner who likes to propagate their plants.- For the lid of the dome, some sort of handle - either one on top, or two on the sides - would be helpful for lifting the lid off. As it is, you have to slide your finger under the lip, lift up, then use both hands (more than likely) to take the lid off and set aside. A handle(s) would make this a much easier, simpler, faster process, especially if wanting to mist multiple times a day, etc.- For the side height extenders, I understand the concept behind having each side a separate panel you then put together when in use; with each panel separate, this makes storage much easier and takes up less space. I can see, though, that after a time or two of putting together and taking apart, the soft plastic screws and nuts will wear out and end up being totally useless. Some other mechanism of holding the panels together (clips, etc) OR providing either metal or much harder plastic screws and nuts would eliminate this problem.- This propagator does not keep a level of humidity inside that will completely fog the inside of the unit, it does not seal tight enough for that. For me, that isn't an issue, but depending on what you're growing/propagating, it could be. If the lip of each height extender, and the corners where they connect together, as well as the lip of the lid had a rubber or foam gasket of some kind to create an actual seal, you'd have no trouble getting everything to fog up nicely. All in all, I would recommend this propagator, and would likely buy another should I have need to. It would, however, be nice to see some of the above added in to this design. I know it would increase the cost somewhat, but I think the benefit and improvement would be worth it.

Best small greenhouse there is-
This holds up , expandable , and is easy to clean. I only use these now. If you want to simulate heating of sun passively - without electric?? Place a ceramic (old fashion tea pot , pick up at thrift store or flea market) tea pot full of boiling water in greenhouse to raise temp & humidity - we grow lions mane & the mushrooms love it, largest I've ever seen grow from bag. Share with others- and grow 3 veg to feed yourself all year long - cabbage , squash , & potatoes. Good luck!!!

sturdy seedling tray.
After several seasons of using those flimsy seedling trays with the shallow lids, I came across this product on Amazon. It was quite expensive, but definitely meets my requirements. 1) A stiff bottom tray that will not break or bend with a load of water laden peat moss pellets. 2) A domed lid that provides enough clearance to allow tomato plants to grow tall over a period of 6-8 weeks. 3) A domed lid that was manufactured with strong plastic and does not easily come off in breezy conditions. 4) Vents on the domed lid to allow heat to escape during the morning until I wake and remove the top. 5) Allow me to bring the tomato seedlings outside to harden during the day when temperatures are above 0c. It also gives the plant a chance to grow stronger before being transplanted into the garden. Reduces chance of frost at night and they have a better chance of surviving slug attacks. So far I've been very happy with the product. It is well designed though I do wonder how well the plastic bolt/nuts will last. I would have preferred that the height extensions be a single plastic instead of 4 separate pieces that require assembly. If the bolts/nuts do break, I can certainly replace them with brass ones from the hardware store. I had no issues with the lid not fitting correctly to the tray unlike other posters. I can see this occurring if the side extensions were not bolted together and aligned properly. The openings where the bolts go through are actually slits to provide a bit of play. If I can find larger peat moss pellets > 42mm pucks I will be able to start tomato seedlings 8+ weeks indoors giving me an even bigger head start on the growing season.

Easy to assemble, solid, can be disassembled for storage
2021 - Bought 2 of these. Easy to put together by 1 person. All parts required in the package (including plastic screwdriver). The plastic is pretty solid, i can put items on top to save space. Reusable and easy to disassemble for storage. Fit from one panel to the next does not seem to have gaps. I bought another one a few weeks after. I used first set with 3 extensions, 2nd set 1 extension for the freshly sprouted plants. Hard top allows me to put anything on top to save space on my kitchen table. Very happy with both purchases.Feb 2022 - bought a 3rd one to prepare to sprout some of mu seeds for upcoming season. Was disappointed a bit on the 3rd order as the green came broken. I’m not removing a star but would like more quality control in future orders. It looked like the crack was not due to shipping but likely already there prior to shipment. Looking at the plastic it came in, there were no additional pieces of plastic that would indicate break during shipment. So it’s either at the time of manufacturing, or boxing, or it was before leaving the warehouse. Pic posted. The dome propagator is big and cumbersome to have to return, rebox and send back. I spoke to Amazon customer service and proposed a small partial credit for broken bin as all other parts were intact besides and usable. Where the crack was situated, it was not a lost cause. Armed with duct tape, glue gun, and patience, i was still able to fix the cracked corner to make it usable, and still provide the seal expected of a domed propagator. I could also opt to throw away the bin (if I wanted) and only use the cover and extenders but why waste the bin if fixable? Although my glue gun work aint pretty in the slightest, but who cares. It’s for plants and will just get more wear and tear later. For the most part, the integrity is still there, and I was able to play with my mini glue gun. I do wish better quality control will be implemented in the future. This is a good product overall. Receiving broken items will make other buyers steer clear of purchasing as 1 bad experience will do it for 1st time buyers. Fortunately, I have received 2 previous ones with no hitch, so I find the quality of the 3rd order was an “oddity”.
