I wish the lens was refurbished, but it seems they missed something.
Updated: "since we sold you a broken lens and the time had passed, your screwed, and thanks for the money, so go screw yourself. I support 1000 people, so have pity, I care for starving children, not you. Let me know if you want to buy something else broken, I'll gladly take the cash. Love, your friend" Old review and message: The lens is great if it worked all the time. The connections are bad, so I was taking pictures of some models last weekend and she was posing and I couldn't take any pictures because my lens stopped working. I had to turn my camera off and restart it and play with the lens until it started working again. She was not happy. Either was i. When you buy something used you are basically buying somebody else's problems that they didn't want.

Great every day lens
This is the lens that I use the most. It's great for close-to-mid-range shots. It takes excellent quality photos and the AF feature works well in most instances, and can be switched to manual when needed easily enough.

Absolutely love this lens!
I absolutely love this lens!! The 24-70 is great, and it allows me to adjust and get the intimate shots I felt like I was missing with just my prime lenses. It does add some extra weight to the camera which is the downfall, but I love the variety I can provide.

DO NOT BUY THIS LENS!!! BAIT AND SWITCH!!!
I ordered this lens thinking that it would save me some money, since I have bought refurbished lenses from B&H before. Never again!!! First, they sent me a Nikon lens (which ironically was in better shape than the one I bought came in). I told them I needed the lens quickly, they assured me they’d get it to me in time for my event (it didn’t show up until 4 days after the event. Go figure). The lens that showed up this time, well, at least it was a Canon lens, so there’s that. There is no way it was refurbished. I bought a lens that was listed in ‘excellent’ condition for a refurb, this lens is far from that. The inner lens can be pulled out with your hand. The connections inside the lens are damaged. It didn’t show up with the “soft bag” it was supposed to. And best of all, it doesn’t focus properly. I ran test shots through both this lens, and my 70-200/2.8 (with the IS turned off) at the same settings, and this lens is incredibly mis-focused. Do yourself a favor, if you’re buying a lens…go to B&H or even Best Buy. Don’t roll the dice on Amazon.

Don’t Buy Used Lenses
This is the second used lens that I have bought. The first one I regretted because of its flaws, but it was functional enough that I could use it on shoots without too much trouble. This lens, however, I’m glad I decided to test it first. At first glance, it seemed pretty good. I didn’t have the flaws of my first used lens, so I thought that the tag “Excellent Condition,” was correct on the item. It surely seemed like an excellent lens. I was wrong. There was a slight issue with the sharpness of the image. It wasn’t as noticeable when using its widest focal length. Once I zoomed in to its longest focal length of 70mm, that’s when I noticed severe issues with sharpness. I’m glad I have a blackmagic camera with focus assist because I might not have been able to notice it before without bringing it to my computer, and oh how disappointing that would have been. In the images you can see a comparison. For anyone unaware of how blackmagic focus assist works, the camera looks at an image and puts a red (or other color) outline over the sharpest parts of your image. The more red lines, the sharper and more in focus your image is. The two images posted in this review are a comparison of the two lenses I have. The one that I just purchased (24-70mm) and an older one (17-55mm). The 55mm lens (second image) is clearly a much sharper image by how much the camera is able to detect those points of sharpness. Very few were detected in the 70mm lens (first image). Better to buy new than used. If you do ever buy used. Thoroughly test it immediately before keeping it.
