Made in Canada, this pen is ideal for DIY guitar builders, refinishers, and enthusiasts seeking professional-grade touch-ups that preserve vintage authenticity. ## Description Oxford Supply Co specializes in traditional Nitrocellulose Lacquer for guitar builders, finishers, DIY’ers, kit builders, refinishers and repairs. Our nitro is matched to some of the most classic guitar finishes. Oxford Supply Co Touch-Up Pens are intended for smaller repairs such as chips, dents, scratches and dings. To use a Touch-Up Pen shake for 60 seconds prior to use and then you must first prime it. Remove the cap and press the felt tip firmly down on a firm surface that’s not the piece you’re repairing – a scrap piece of hardwood works well as you can get a feel for the amount of lacquer that will flow from the chamber. Wait approximately 30 seconds and then press the tip down again until the tip has become fully saturated. Once this occurs you can now start your repair. Clean the area and make sure it is completely dry and free of any contaminants. Use the pen tip to drop fill the desired area with lacquer. Do not “push” lacquer – the new lacquer will melt into the original lacquer of the repaired area. Although you don’t want to apply more than necessary, a nice wet pen is more likely to leave a smooth touch up (same idea as finishing up a spray job with a wet coat that flows nicely and dries flat). Let the new lacquer dry flat for at least an hour before applying additional coats. If you’re planning on wetsanding and buffing the area, it’s a great idea to follow up with several coats of Clear lacquer once your initial coat(s) of color lacquer has been applied.
