Sometime last year, after less than two years of owning my ps5 controllers, two out of four controllers had to have their batteries replaced, and one controller developed stick drift so bad I had my online friends trying to bump my character away from map edges while I was trying to guid my character away. It's debatable if the stick drift was purely the shoddy assembly work of the ps5 series or my husband's rather obtuse handling of his things. He switched to PC so I inherited his two controllers from the ps5 I bought him. Anyways, I bought these batteries sometime last year and they still last about 18 hours even while watching tv or playing my videogames. They don't take forever to charge either. No smells, warping, or leaking from the two controllers from what I have observed. I was concerned about it because I have dropped my controllers a few times and my two dogs were not helpful in that prevention. I'm pointing this out because the batteries are in a "pure" form. No plastic casing, just a "soft form" pack and then adhesive on the back that sticks to the plate when you pop it all back together. Soft packs tend to be more volatile, not always, so minor physical hiccups can disrupt the device and erupt it. You do not want any kind of battery acid or liquid from electronics on you, trust me. I was an inquisitive kid and surprised that I have made it to my current age. Anywho, they still function after a year of heavy use and minor abuse, which is more than what I can say for the stock parts. My ps4 and ps2 controllers from nearly a decade and two decades ago, are still going strong. Shame PS can't have the same quality in their modern products. That's the capitalist way I guess. Make a low grade thing and price it high so the consumer has to buy more. Thankfully, these batteries have lasted the year trial period I have for things. Here's to hoping they last another year, or at least five years. A good -physical- quality product will last at least five years with heavy use. I'm saying these batteries are awesome. Just frustrated with current, subpar standards of the overall industries.

If I could leave 4.5 stars, that would likely be more accurate. The batteries install easily and work as expected. The one downside is that the included screwdriver is does not have a magnetized tip, which is problematic for screws this tiny. Admittedly, for the price, the fact that one was included at all is a bonus. You likely will also need a larger pry tool than the small one included. The one included is perfectly fine for removing the black template that extends over the top, but to exert enough leverage to pry loose the harder shell, a longer pry tool or screwdriver is needed. All things considered, great value!

I was looking at buying new controllers because the batteries would only last about an hour before needing recharged. I took a chance and bought a 4 pack. Two for me and two for my brother. Watched videos and read the instructions on how to replace the batteries and was surprised at how easy it was to do. Now the same controllers last for days before I have to switch to my other one.
