The lights are mainly plastic, with the exception of the base and trim (see photos)--having said that, they make a statement while being so unobtrusive people don't notice the materials. We purchased some of the first of this new model to be offered on Amazon so the deal was amazing! They have three light settings (controlled by tapping the foot switch 1-3 times for level of brightness and "on/off") all of which are daylight quality light, not the warmth of halogen lighting; this needs to fit with your decor or you'll have to layer light with additional light sources (which we did) to gain a warmer feel to the room. In the first photo I had the far light (left) on the brightest setting and the near light (right) on the lowest, it didn't show well in the photo but you can see a bit of difference.In summary, the description info is accurate. We love our lights!

Edited 11/26/18: Brightech reached out to me (several times, actually) and I eventually accepted their offer of a replacement lamp. This one assembled in minutes. Apparently they shipped me the wrong hardware initially. Very impressed with both the lamp and their customer service, and am upgrading this review.Cheap. Arrived without hardware. Contacted Brighttech to get the screws shipped to me. Waited two weeks. Upon arrival, they would not fit into the lamp’s base. The threads are off or something, but after half an hour of frustration I gave up. Lamp would be pretty if it stood upright but as it is garbage. Really thought Brighttech shipped a better product than this.

I’ve been using this for about 2 weeks.I love it. I really do. There are some drawbacks, but once you get past them I think you’ll love it. (1) when assembling it, I recommend 2 people. Maybe it was the way I held it out of fear of breaking it, but I made my husband help. There’s a hold in the bottom that a small screw goes through. You think it must have a bolt or actually screw in, but it’s just for stability if you want to call it that. Be sure to line up the angle so it fits flush, but that probably goes without saying. (2) good news: you will die before the bulb does! The led bulbs last forever so feel good about leaving it to a grandchild. (3) it puts out a good deal of light. There are 3 settings, so choose what you need. (4) the settings are changed by a button near the bottom of it. You can just tap it with your foot. I didn’t really understand by the description how that was set up, but my pic should show it better. (5) it looks like a light saber. (6) it seems very sturdy. I don’t think it’s going to fall apart soon. (7) it’s taller than I expected. I thought it would be the equivalent of a table lamp height, but it’s much taller.My husband and I both like it. I definitely recommend it.

This is my fourth Brightech lamp. This is a different model, the screws are a bit short for the weight they hold in my opinion. Anyway, my husband bumped into the lamp and the screws went flying down the heater duct, not recoverable. I call Brightech to get replacement screws and they tell me they don't have any. WTH? It took me three phone calls and a lengthy conversation to basically find out I'm out of luck. Waste of time and CHEAP product with no parts to order if they are lost or defective or both.

Looks great, no issues. It's been about 3 months since purchased and I don't have any issues yet. It is very bright so I always have it on its last setting. The design is great however the one drawback is that you can't really have this next to you, always best placed behind. The light hits you right in the eyes at the the middle of the frame. Ideally, this should emit light only from the top.The light has good warm color, not blue daylight.

The floor lamp looks modern and hip. However, it's extremely difficult to assemble. I tried to complete STEP 1 for more than one hour, made multiple scratches to the base, gave up, and called for backup. The backup is an engineer with great problem-solving skills. Even he had a hard time lining up the base. Once we passed step 1, the rest was very easy. I love the lamp, and would give the look/style 5 stars. Took off one star for the impossible assembly.

I have two of these arching behind my living room sofa, and I love them! More than enough light on the high setting for reading, all the way down to a low light for those romantic evenings. They look great, they were easy to assemble, they give off plenty of light - they have 3 light settings, enough light for every occasion. I am very happy with this purchase - so much so that I’m purchasing another lamp for my bedroom. That’s the highest praise I can offer, that I like them so much that I’m buying more of their lamps.

This light is wonderful. It is very bright, but also has two lower settings. The foot pedal is handy. The light is sturdy, looks great, and serves it purpose. I use it in my classroom behind my reading table. It doesn't take up any space at all.
