Great if used properly. If you're super light blond process with 10 volume. You also want to watch this process as it could turn super dark so rinse when you achieve the desired tone. Remember everything is darker wet because the light cannot reflect through it. If you're super orange process with 20 volume developer for the entire suggested time (45 minutes max). Use a brush and a bowl as it's too thick for a bottle (see other inexperienced reviewers mistakes with photos) and check out tutorial videos on how to apply. If you have natural roots, do them last as they will become hot. Look up 'hot roots."

From what I can tell, the Ion light charcoal color turned out good on my previously dyed hair. I don't always have good results with gray colors turning out however the tube seemed dried out and did not mix well with the developer, leaving chunks in my solution. I'm hoping it was an old tube and not how this product will come in the future since I do like the color and intend to purchase again.

Was a little darker than I wanted, but liked it

This product was strand tested on untreated light brown hair, and again on very bleached hair. It did nothing at all both times. No Color, Nothing. Complete waste of money. I ended up dying my hair with two other Ion colors purchased elsewhere. My hair took both dyes within Seconds of application so it's not that Ion products don't work on my hair in general, but this one certainly didn't. I'd like a refund for this product.

Bleached to a level 9, light pale blonde, no undertones to of caused it to dye my hair brown. I had to re-bleach and go with a different dye.
