Wagner Spraytech 0529011 FLEXiO 570 Handheld HVLP Paint Sprayer, Sprays Most Unthinned Latex, Includes iSpray Nozzle, Complete Adjustability for All Needs

I've used lesser quality HVLP sprayers before with mixed results. I have a cheapy Graco factory refurb and a new DSP 360 and used them for several projects, but now they both leak or won't spray correctly. Rather than drop a king's ransom on an Earlex or Fuji HVLP, I decided to give the Flexio 5000 a try, as the reviews seemed to be favorable. We are painting our kitchen (Kent Moore cabinets, not cheap stuff) and my wife is hand-priming the face frames in the kitchen whilst I took all of the drawers and doors out to the garage. We didn't want to mask off the kitchen to spray indoors. Everything was washed down with genuine TSP and then sanded with 320 grit 3M sandpaper and rinsed again. I got a gallon of Zinsser 123 primer and thinned it a little until it smoothly ran off the stirring stick. I tested the Detail gun on a flat surface, dialed in the power (about 50%) and started spraying. After priming about 18 doors, I have to say this is a *very* good HVLP spray unit! Since it is humid today (typical Houston spring with a little rain) I need to wait longer for the primer to dry, and then flip all the doors over to prime the fronts. I will edit this review once I have painted on the Behr Cabinet paint. I expect great performance with it too. Clean up is a breeze, and I do suggest the purchase of the cleaning brush set (I got the 22 piece set and it took me only a few minutes to clean up the gun and paint container. I did a full cleaning since it would be over an hour before I can continue spraying. Edit (as promised): This is getting better and better. We bought the Behr Cabinet, Door and Trim paint in the satin sheen. This paint brushes on like butter, but we're not talking about brushing, are we? It sprays on beautifully too, and without thinning! A few things I learned along the way. 1) Strain your paint ALWAYS, 2) Spray on first coat and note the finish when it dries. If a little rough, sand very lightly with 320 grit or higher, 3) Spray next coat a little more slowly to allow a somewhat thicker coat. The Behr Cabinet paint is self-leveling, but you have to make sure the coat is thick enough for that to happen, 4) Check the spray tip often and wipe off any build up, 5) Clean up the gun very thoroughly, even just between coats. We're talking about a very expensive paint job, and you want the sprayer in tip top condition for every coat. 6) The cleaning brush kit was a god-send and made clean up so much better,. In summary, this is a terrific spray kit for the price. If I was a professional cabinet maker, I would probably splurgh on a Fuji sprayer and spend upwards of $1500, but I am a weekend sawdust maker and this unit fits my budget AND gives me great results.

I was a little skeptical buying this paint sprayer with it being relatively inexpensive. I used it first to paint my porch, which has plenty of spindles. It worked really well, but lots of overspray, with nothing behind the spindles. Probably not the best choice to use this. If you do, cover everything. I spent an hour power washing my exterior after it was done. It does save you paint, regardless of overspray. I thought I was going to go through the paint reservoir in a matter of minutes. It lasted way longer than expected, with infrequent refills (sometimes a good half hour to an hour before I had too). Also, if you are painting over with the same color, it is really hard to tell how much paint it is putting out. So, the next day I was hesitant, as I was painting our 2 metal garage doors from light brown to white. I didn't want to deal with clean up. I started on the bottom panels with a roller and trim brush. It was taking forever and the trim brush just mostly smeared the paint. Probably took an hour and a half just for the bottom section panels. I attempted the paint sprayer, and wow, I had a first coat on the entire 2 car and 1 car garage door in probably an hour or less. The difference in color you could really tell how much the paint sprayer was putting out. Second and third coat went even faster. I also rolled once more which was only a few minutes for each door. The sprayer saved me hours of work and little to no overspray at all. Really happy with the purchase. It's not perfect, but does save time and paint. Used less than 3 gallons for both projects. I wouldn't say it's the smoothest finish, due to occasional larger droplets (especially after stopping and starting again) or hovering over a spot for too long. But if you don't mind using a roller to smooth things out, it's worth the buy.

I bought this last year during Black Friday sales and never got to use it due to health problems. We finally opened it up three days ago and got about 6 hours over three days of use out of it before the motor burned up. It is now non functional despite our cleaning it out to the best of our ability. It still runs but the motor is seriously damaged and air output is insufficient for use. I can't recommend this product as I don't think that's a good value for the money. :/ EDIT: Wagner honored their warranty although it was probably a few days past the one-year limit they claimed, so kudos to them. Buyers need to be well aware of the reason this happened and how to avoid it, however: We were in an enclosed area and were unable to keep the unit outside of the spray area. In such situations, the turbine will suck in the paint aerosols until it chokes and dies. This will happen much faster than you expect and when that happens, there is no bringing it back. To prevent this, the following precautions are recommended: 1. Keep extra filters, which can be constructed for cheap out of quilt batting, and change them every hour or two of use. (The vent at the back of the unit will still have to be cleared of buildup frequently.) 2. If possible, keep the unit elevated--even two feet up--as aerosols and other debris are more concentrated at floor level. 3. Construct a disposable "pre-filter," which can be put on with a rubber band and changed frequently. 4. Use a box, like the box the unit comes in, to keep it in. Cut a hole for the hose to go out the back and then cut off the back and put an HVAC filter there. Or any combination of the above. Otherwise, I've been very pleased with the unit's maneuverability and ease of use, the quality and smoothness of its coverage, and the simplicity of cleaning.

Like the title says, I had very low expectations for this sprayer. I mean for $250ish what can you expect. With quotes at $4500+ to refinish my kitchen cabinets I figured if this worked, it was a no brainer. It did. I have experience with auto painting (amateur, small pieces) and own a couple of auto guns but they won't spray thicker paint. This does. Is it perfect? No. Is it good value? No, it's great value. I had some initial issues with the unit splattering paint (still do at times) but after I figured out how to fine tune my paint (thinning with a little water) and the two control knobs (paint flow and air power - on the smaller gun) this thing does the job just great. Without a doubt I am sure there are better units out there but not at this price point. It's quicker and easier to clean this than a single brush too which makes clean up so easy. My tips are - - FILTER your paint, - Ensure the gun is connected to your hose properly. At first it was so stiff to fit I thought I was doing it wrong, you really have to jam it in there the first couple of times before twisting to lock. - Do not over thin your paint - Find the correct coverage consistency with the paint adjustment, for me that's thin coats but not so thin they go on almost dry.

This is a follow up to my review below from a couple of months ago.. I started painting again with this and it is utterly a piece of <beep>. The nozzle continues to clog very quickly, causing the painter to start spattering. IF, and I stress IF you paint start to finish NON-STOP (not allowing any time for the paint to gunk up the nozzle, it will work. I attempted to paint some doors and supports and because of the stop and go effort in painting,it became a nightmare to try and paint anything evenly. I am now resorting to having to sand it own, and start over. It was a mess. Not sure what sprayer will work, but DO NOT BUY this one. Alright, started out reading the reviews and noticed most commented negatively that the paint starts splattering after a couple of uses. Now, once I started using it,it is an incredible, nice even coats, little on the heavy side full of paint, but overall I would have given it 5 stars. On the 3rd fill up of paint I noticed it started to gunk around the sprayer, I fully expected that I wiped it down and started spraying, within seconds it started splattering. Now it's because it is a very good fine sprayer that this probably happens. The paint starts drying up around the edges of the sprayer and by the time you stop, refill, connect everything back up, it causes an issue. It is a great sprayer, however, I am finding I have to thoroughly clean it after every 2 fill ups. Not efficient for painting a large area, like a house. Unless you have time.

I would give this sprayer more than 5 stars if possible! I used it for the first time today & it is much quieter than my other sprayer. The ability to control the airflow and flow rate of paint is a game changer, plus the sprayer is SO much lighter! Clean up was also much quicker and easier. No problems with clogging or “spitting “ blobs of paint. It was definitely worth the investment!!

Flexio 5000 - aka Spatter King. Works as advertised for about a 15 minute run time before paint gums up sprayer. PREMISE Purchased as I do a fair amount of painting as an apartment owner and about time I tried spraying. Selected Flexio 5000 for its versatility (small, medium projects for both home and projects.) Zero compensation for this review. Spent nearly 3 weeks working w/sprayer daily covering apx. 1000 sq.ft apartment, ceilings/trim/doors/cabinets - everything…primarily latex, and while certainly not an expert have enough experience to share. Paint was all new, so clogs mentioned are not from stale or foreign objects in paint. Fully a convert to use sprayer for trim, ceilings, doors, cabinets. PROS • Works as advertised (albeit for a short period of time.) • Less overspray than expected, easier to manage and less masking required. • Appreciate the adjustments for pressure, product flow, air flow, air patterns. • Appreciate the compressor mechanism on floor w/long hose to sprayer. • Appreciate an all-n-one storage/carrying case CONS • Clogs - Hot air in tube dries paint inside gun (nozzle cap/nozzle/seal gasket etc.) - no way around it. • Nearly 100% plastic..handle, nozzle, trigger - it is all plastic. • Spatters - Even when you are having a good run, you run into spatters. • Inconsistent spray patterns - spray pattern needs to be tested and adjusted often. • Ignoring overspray, crazy amounts of wasted paint, from extra inside container to unavoidable messes. • Loud • Hose kinks, and once kinked hose is deformed…still works but forever deformed • Messy and mini-explosions. paint will get everywhere..oozing from here and there. • Hard to clean. SO MANY different pieces need to be cleaned • No built-in or reusable paint filters (on your own so-to-speak) REASONS FOR RETURN No way to get around the following points to the point where it just isn’t it. • CLOGS - No getting away from clogs…spending so much time fighting clogs from the simple at the nozzle to disassembling the gun in the middle of painting for a treasure hunt to clear clogs or improve spray pattern. Hot air dries the paint inside the gun and essentially no way around it. If your job is going to take a while, you will be getting clogs and problems resulting from the hot air. • SPATTER - you have to test and adjust so frequently it is distracting and annoying. You have the desired spray pattern that works for a few minutes and then changes..because maybe the hot air dried the paint some..time to stop yet again and hunt out the reason. • WASTED PRODUCT - the reservoir cup requires a fair amount of paint that can’t actually be sprayed through, like a reserve to keep air pressure in the container. When the sprayer runs out of paint, there is still a fair amount of paint left in the container. Bags will be easier (no samples included) - but forget about ‘touch up’ sprayer and such… you have to pour so much into the container for touch up, and then most of that is wasted. • PLASTIC - Plastic seems more on the cheap side where the Flexio will work for an immediate project or two but low confidence it will last. TIPS FOR SUCCESS • While you do not ‘need’ to thin down product, flows much better slightly thinned. • Keep your painting runway short..once the gun heats up from the hot air you will be getting problems. • So many videos show perfect jobs from DIY’ers in perfect clothing and shoes … wear paint clothes. • Cool, air conditioned, room to minimize added heat leading to gumming up the sprayer. WISH LIST • Clog free experience, or at least an easy way to clear and manage clogs. • Reusable and sample filters or paint bags provided • Metal parts

Worked great, painted the double front door with it. Make sure to take it apart and clean thoroughly after use. Like with any spray gun, mask everything and cover yourself.

Hace el trabajo muy fácil. Tardo más empapelado que pintando. Pruebenla primero con agua para que vean todos los tipos de abanico que hace y que tanto fluido escupir. Muy contento

Tout simplement wow! Ça me prenais 1 heure teindre le plancher du patio, là en 10 minutes le tour est joué. Facile a utiliser, netoyer et ranger, c'est un indispensable. L'appareil est de qualité bricoleur, c-à-d, en plastique, mais un plastique solide. Il y 2 "fusils" d'inclus, 1 pour le grossier et le plus petit pour la finition. Je recommande cet enssemble si vous avez des travaux de petites à grandes surfaces. Si vous avez seulement des petites surfaces, ce n'est peut être pas approprié. Au fond c'est votre budget qui vas vous guider.
