Review: Durable, reliable work horse! - Narrowed choices to 2 brands about a dozen yrs ago - purchased Cuisinart 7 cup Pro Classic. Perfect for the 2 of us!! Easily whips up wkly batches of hummus, makes quick work of "kneading" pizza dough, mixes up gluten free cookie dough for my m-in-law. Literally gallons of salsa verde every yr for the freezer. Soups are easy peasy: winter squash, sweet potato/ miso, tomato, home made "V-8." Rinse bowl/ lid immed. after ea. use, I don't find it difficult to clean? Read it was discontinued (why??) decided to get another though ours is still running like a champ. Accrued all the blades I want over time (eBay is a good source - excellent condition used blades for less than $12 ea.) Would hate to start over w. a new processor, buy all new extra blades (Yikes... $$$) ONLY negative is that it was sent w/o ANY protective packing, just sliding around inside a larger box. Seriously, desertcart??? But if you're looking for a reliable, smaller food processor, an excellent machine, IMHO. Grates cheese, zucchini, apples, yellow potatoes, slices sweet potatoes & beets for dehydrated chips (and they're solid veggies) No issues what-so-ever, beautiful, consistent results and clean up is a breeze. (Also, for those who've asked, my previous/ older blades seem to fit the new stem, lock into place easily, solidly) I wouldn't want to be w/o this appliance and have been genuinely pleased w. it's durability.
Review: So Much Better Than the New Ones - This is a true Cuisinart, unlike the flimsy machines they are putting the name on these days. Powerful and super well-made, if the size is good for you, you will not be disappointed by the DLC 10. I believe this is "new old stock," meaning it is a new machine but they no longer make it and are clearing out the warehouse. It was replaced by the FP-8 series, which doesn't hold a candle to the DLC-10. I bought the FP-8 not knowing that the DLC was still available. The FP is not powerful and quite flimsy. The bowl broke when I dropped it, which would never happen with the DLC. A replacement bowl for the FP was nearly the price of a new unit, which annoyed me enough that I decided to shop around. I was stoked to find the DLC-10 at a very reasonable price. We have a 25 year old DLC-14 at our second home, and it still works like brand new. The DLC-10 is of that quality. Just be aware that the 7 cup work bowl is quite a bit smaller than what most people think of an old-school Cuisinart to be. It is fine for most chopping/blending for a family of 4, but is probably too small to make a full-sized bread dough.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this model the same as or different from cuisinart dfp-14bcn (no y at end of the model number)?**
A: model number DFP-14BCN has recalled riveted blades. The food processor base shows DFP-14BCN but they added a Y to the box so that they could sell it as DFP-14BCNY. This is false advertising.

**Q: this is the model highest rated by ci and atk. so is anyone else ready to rant about the safety feature getting all gross with food? true or false?**
A: I don't get it. We love this food processor but can't stand to wash it. Would not put it in the dishwasher. Everything gets stuck in the top and in the mechanism for the top. And it's clear plastic so you can see all the food caught in there, but there is no way to get it out. We can't figure out how it gets in there in the first place. We use the machine as directed. We wash it immediately after use every single time. I try to use the spray at the sink to get the debris out, doesn't help. Tried soaking it. Tried just at least spraying vinegar inside it to prevent bacteria from building up. We have only had it 5 years and have wanted to replace the bowl and top and Cuisinart is out of stock. And I saw them on sale on Amazon for $45. for just the bowl. And the food processor has gone up in price by $50. since we bought it in 2015. So, I am now actively looking for a replacement for this machine, even though it's still working fine. I can't deal with the clean up any more. Or with what I consider a health hazard having all that debris in there fermenting.

**Q: Anyone know the difference between the dlc-10s and the newer dlc-10sy model?**
A: Yes, the 10SY does not have the riveted blade that was recalled from the 10S (and others) back in December 2016.

**Q: How thin does cabbage come**
A: Has anyone used the 2mm blade (sold separately) to slice cabbage for coleslaw? Not sure if the included 4mm slicing blade is the only size I'll need. Thanks

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Truly a Classic
*by A***R on October 17, 2017*

This is my second food processor. I had a little Cuisinart 3-Cup food processor that I used for 16 years. It finally gave up the ghost and I went shopping for another. My husband bought me a kitchen aid food processor which I used once before a key component broke. It was pretty to look at but wasn't easy to clean. And from how quickly a piece of it was broken told me that it also wasn't very durable (or maybe it was a lemon). So the kitchen aid was returned to the store and I went looking for another Cuisinart. This 7-Cup Pro Classic was exactly what I was looking for. It was very similar to my old food processor only bigger. The food chute accommodates larger pieces which is handy. I can put 2.5 small potatoes in the chute at a time to shred into hash browns. It's very simple to use (on, off or pulse) and super easy to clean. It comes with attachments to shred and slice. The base is heavy and it is powerful. I love that it is simple without a lot of bells and whistles. It just does what it's meant to do. I feel confident that it will last just as long as my first Cuisinart.
