Given as a gift to someone with a black Lavender thumb
Given as a gift to a friend who has killed two Lavender plants. This book has been a great help to her, so far the new plant is thriving.

Growing and Using Lavender
Love this little informative booklet.I have purchased 2 books by the editors of Storey Books...my favorite is:Country Wisdom & Know How 2004..so when I spotted the little lavender booklet I know I couldn't go wrong. It's just a simple intro to Lavender for the beginner, much of the info is from the Country Wisdom book but at a fraction of the cost.I am happy with it.

Comprehensive for its size
This guide has the important information in the msot detail and the lesser information in the less detail - the way it should be. There are paragraphs on several varieties, how to propagate, plant from seed, prune, harvest, maintain, etc. She also mentions some uses for lavender, some reciepies, and crafts. One thing she forgot to mention that I will tell you is that most species of lavender cannot be eaten. The only two varieties you should look for if you want to use the lavender in recipies are Lavendula agustifolia or Lavendula X intermedia, and there are many varieties of each of these but the rest should not be consumed. I would have liked to known the author's thoughts on selling lavender. This was published in 1996 and the information is relevant, although missing internet resources. Worth the $4, not a lot of fluff but actual applications and directions.

Nothing extraordinary
It’s okay. Nice little reference but a bit underwhelming, if I am being honest. Also, it’s basically just like a paper brochure or pamphlets, I would hardly consider it a book. Almost like something you’d receive in the classroom as a project outline guide or something. Good thing it was only a few dollars!

Something New To Learn
I got this book thinking that I would learn something new. Well I did and knew that I needed more information here in my library. I am getiing to know the difference between the types of Lavender and what will and will not grow in Washington. Looking forward to more reading.

Fantastic
Such a tiny book but with all the information I was looking for. This is truly the best book I have seen and I am so glad I found it. It told me much, much more than books that are 200 pages and cost a fortune. So thank you. I will be looking for more of this series.
