GHS Strings A87 FAST FRET

I put it in the lower part of my strings by the sound hole. It helps me strum fast bluegrass way better than bare strings. Pick glides with less resistance. Love it.

Works well cleaning up my strings

I used Fast Fret a couple of times and it does a decent job, but you still have to remember wiping the strings every time you play, which I often forgot or just didn't have the patience for. Now I found a new option, String ProTech. It's a hard case, with cool custom stickers to add on, that attaches to the neck of the guitar and covers the strings with an absorbent tissue that dries and cleans them just by sliding it on. It goes beyond a lubricant because it seals the strings from air and humidity, so they last longer and stay fresh. And it's lab proven, you can download the actual lab report on their website stringprotech.com...no more wiping for me!

I wipe my strings down with this stuff after playing and it extends the strong life. It lubes the strings just a bit to help with glissandos but does not feel greasy. I've been using this stuff for 30 years (back when the container was metal) and it's great. I tried the D'Addario version and was not impressed.

I bought my first can of Fast Fret over 30 years at the recommendation of my guitar teacher. Back then, the can was tin and the handle was wooden. Things have changed—the can is feather-light plastic and the handle a thicker sort that could never wear out from normal use. I’m not sure what the applicator is soaked in—some sort of mineral oil, I suppose—but it stays dry and cleans the string. A lint-free cloth is included to wipe away any excess. Safe for all stringed instruments.

I have to say I don't know what other brands might exist of this type of product. This is the first one I use ever. But this stuff is amazing. I was having to change strings every couple of weeks. With this product my strings last a lot longer. I have been playing the same strings on my electric guitar for about a month almost daily. It's really easy to use: After playing the guitar wipe the strings with a cloth, then apply this stuff by just going up and down the strings with it a couple of times. The next day the strings feel like new. Highly recommend. When I got it I had been playing my strings for just one week and they were already getting a bit rough. I thought I would need to change them but I decided to try the product on them. Well, 3 weeks later I am playing those same strings and the roughness actually went away. The strings that get rough are always the 3 highest GBE. Especially the high E because it's so thin. That one always ended cutting my fingers after a week or two. The others don't really benefit as much from the treatment since they are wound and thicker. But I have been applying the product on all of them. I don't know how long the product lasts. But after a month it's already saved me money.

I have purchase GHS Fast Fret from several musical instrument vendors all over the country. I can't tell you how many dried out applicators I have purchased in the past, but no more. GHS has change there applicators for the better. They are no longer made of wood. The two I received came in "SEALED" metal containers and the applicators are now made with a plastic handle and they have a tight fitting clear plastic cap that closes over the end of the applicator thus preventing the Fast Fret from drying out. The handle also has a hollow compartment to house the soft cleaning cloth that come with this fine product. you just fold the cloth in half, roll it up and it fits neatly in the handle, which has a cap with "gripper" edges so you can remove it. As it also fits very firmly. An excellent way to improve an excellent product. Fast Fret does everything the people at GHS say it will do. Fast Fret cleans your strings and fret board and make your strings sound bright, louder,clearer and last far longer than you would ever imagine. I have played for fifty one years and I will not play with out GHS Fast Fret. Thank you GHS for a brilliant product and a brilliant up grade to it.

Does a great job of keeping the strings smooth and playable for extended periods. Wouldn't be without it.
