Delightful Italian comedy
What a wonderful comedy! There is never a dull moment as the story unfolds. The actors are excellent and bring life to the characters they portray. They are most convincing. The cinematography is breathtaking. It gives the viewer a look at the beauty of Italy in all is uniqueness. The town where the wedding is to take place is stunning with the long road up the mountain to the town. The music soundtrack is beautiful and underscores the delightful story. It also reminds us that we are indeed in Italy. The tunes are often hummable. The extras are interesting. Backstage with the director and cast is informative. The Opening Night Q &. A is delightful, the two actors bringing their personalities to the session.Highly recommended!

Eh. Decent mostly but annoying at the same time.
Decent gay movie, although it used every cliché it could. <<<rolleyes>>> The ending was both rushed and not particularly convincing. The mayor suddenly becoming so accepting OVERNIGHT? After burning down the venue where the wedding was supposed to be held? Paolo's mother suddenly turning up all smiles and approving *just like that*? Anna (Antonio's mother) was fine and convincing, albeit her "you shall do this THIS way" demands was just a bit overbearing. Donato and Benedetta were fine. Father Francisco portrayed a decent member of the clergy - and made me smile when he kept looking over his shoulder at a pic of Francis I on the wall when he agreed to "do the honors" (on deconsecrated ground) if Roberto would not.But what particularly irritated me was Antonio's inability to reveal his sexual past with his psycho ex-girlfriend, as well as his inability to confront her and say "no more". Fer crissake - stop flopping about when she keeps refusing to accept he is gay and insisting on his loving her etc etc. Get a restraining order against her. Tell her in no uncertain terms to get lost and behave accordingly. And then...the whole thing turns into a facsimile of Bollywood-cum-Mamma Mia at the end. Did Antonio and Paolo actually get married or not?

So. Darn. Charming. Lovable Movie.
I love it. Don't go looking in the "Awards" column, you won't find anything there. Still, the movie is so, damn, charming - you can overlook just about anything. US Audiences may not know, but Diego Abatantuono is a bit of a legend. Monica Guerritore plays the most outstanding mother-of-a-gay-son, a model for all Italian mothers. Finally, Salvatore Esposito is an OUTSTANDING actor, most known as the somehow-endearing, entirely-sociopathic crime lord in GEMORRAH. In the US, he was in Season 4 of Fargo and he was amazing. He creates the most lovable human being in Paolo and I just adore him. Touching, funny, uplifting ending, a breathtakingly beautiful town in Italy, great performances; it's all there. Look, did you open the 'best' bottle of wine? No. But it's a good bottle, easily drinkable, infectiously enjoyable, and you are going to have a good time with some friends from Italy. Cheers!

Good movie...they will divorce in a year
It is one the best acted gay movies. The past decade we have seen a move from a want of rom-coms to movies that happen to involve romance and comedy in an honest way. Loved the mother and the father didn't seem to be too hateful just needed a little nudge. At the end they shouldn't have married because the other guy has not said "I love you". Also most of the movie he was being pushed to come out, to marry a certain way. He still needs to find himself and be sure of his own conviction that he loves the other guy. It would have been a better ending the bear leaving the town and having self respect.

A great movie to watch while you're locked down in quaratine.
Great low budget film. Very heartwarming and sincere. If you're looking for a good movie to watch without worrying about camera angles, lighting, and the technical, then this is your movie. Just enjoy it for what it is.

I think the transvestite was too much
I think the transvestite was too much. Instead of a character having validity, it seems like they said, "hey trans is a big thing, let's shove one in the show."

Cute movie albeit a bit cheesy at times!
I loved the mom in this movie. He was proud of her son and wanted him to have the most amazing wedding ever! I studied abroad in Florence, Italy during undergrad school so the film reminded me of my time living in Italy. If you love all things Italian like I do, it's worth the hour and a half of your time. Enjoy!

Bel film
