As a photographer I've always used lots of these with various cameras. So have a lot of experience with multiple versions and brands, and this one is just ok... It comes in multiple parts which are easy to assemble. And it works well enough and does the job. But it has a cheap, plastic feel to it - not something you'd necessarily put a lot of trust or confidence in if the camera is in a more precarious spot. But for basic general use it would be ok. It does hold well and works, but it doesn't give off that high quality feeling I have had with most other mounts. Pricewise it is fairly priced I think for what it is, as usually they are a bit more. Overall - it works and is fine for most scenarios. But I don't love it. If you're on a major budget and need one, it's fine. But personally I'd probably spend a little more for something a little better.

I sometimes need to video product demonstrations for future use so I needed some way to mount my phone on a camera tripod. This mount does the job well. It has three parts: A spring loaded phone holder that opens from 55mm to 90mm, a ball and socket joint and a camera hot shoe mount. It’s made from plastic with metal screws but seems very robust enough for general use but professionals might want to spend a bit more and get an aluminium version. The ball and socket joint is a bit stiff but I see that as an advantage. It can only hold the phone in landscape more. It holds my phone securely and it doesn’t take up much space in my gadget bag.

I needed an adapter to use my smart phone on my Rocketfish tripod and this little unit works great for that. With phone cameras rivaling DSLRs these days, I rarely pull out my SLR anymore. This unit has the standard 1/4" attachment points and it includes a ball head, which I didn't need as my tripod has one already. The ball head is made of plastic and it says it's rated for only 500grams, so I would be careful using it for an expensive (and heavy) DSLR. One the plus side though, this kit comes with a cold shoe attachment so you can use your phone with your camera. Very handy if you have a live view feature or even for immediate post processing of images to social media, etc. The phone clamp itself can only hold phones in landscape mode, unless your tripod allows you to rotate it 90 degrees. All in all, a nice kit for a great price, but it's more for casual use and not more serious photography.

Unkomplizierte, festen Halt bietende Handy-Halterung als Stativ-Adapter aus ABS-Kunststoff mit integriertem Metallgewinde. Meinerseits gibt es hierfür eine Kaufempfehlung. In der Pappschachtel werden drei Einzelteile geliefert: die Handyhalterung mit 27 Gramm, der Kugelkopf mit 47 Gramm und der Blitzschuh-Adapter mit 15 Gramm. Die beiliegende Bedienungsanleitung ist in Englisch. Die eigentliche Handyhalterung besteht aus einem Materialmix: die Kontaktflächen für das Smartphone sind gummiert gepolstert, die beiden Schraubgewinde für den Standard-Stativanschluss sind aus Metall, der Korpus der Halterung ist anscheinend aus ‒ grob gesagt ‒ »ABS«. Dieser technisch sinnvoll gewählte Materialmix stellt sich auch beim Kugelkopf dar. Es können Geräte von 5,7 cm bis 9,1 cm eingespannt werden. Für einen sicheren Halt sollten die Smartphones oder Geräte möglichst nicht dicker als 1,5 cm sein. Die Geräte werden mit einer einfach zu bedienenden, unkomplizierten und recht strammen Federmechanik eingespannt. Der resultierende Halt wirkt fest und zuverlässig. Ich werde dieser Halterung auch mein teures iPhone anvertrauen. Die beiden Klemmpolster sind jeweils ca. 3,3 cm breit. Man muss am Smartphone also eine geeignete Stelle finden, bei der es sich in die Halterung einspannen lässt, ohne dass mittels des kräftigen Haltedrucks versehentlich eine Taste betätigt wird. Bei manchen iPhones ist dafür z.B. der Bereich der Kamerasteuerung geeignet ‒ sofern sich das iPhone in einer Schutzhülle befindet. Der süße Kugelkopf ist ein nettes Benefit nebenbei. Unbrauchbar ist er meiner Meinung nach nicht ‒ und er ist klein sowie leicht. Ausserdem passt er ‒ ebenso wie die Handyhalterung selbst ‒ auf ein Standard-Stativgewinde. Ich finde das praktisch und erkenne keinen Anlass, darüber Kritik zu äußern, denn alles zusammen ist für 6,99 Euro nicht zu teuer bezahlt. Den Blitzschuh-Adapter lassʼ ich persönlich dann aber doch in der Pappschachtel.
