Encyclopedia of leather tools
If you are looking for a book that names most of the tools usesd in leather crafting you don't need to look further. It might cover every tool out there and it does a great job explaining tools of different leather making trades (boot and shoe maker, furrier, harness maker and saddler, tanner, currier and even the clog maker has its own section). Drawings show the tools and within the scope of this book it is better than having photos.I use this book to identify old Tools that I have purchased. So far there has not been a single tool that hasn't been mentioned in this book.An excellent book for the amateur leather goods maker expanding his or her Collection of tools. It is also a good book for someone training to work crafting in leather. For a person interested in harness making there is even a section on the trade of the loriner (a special smith for horse bits, spurs etc.)If you find it, buy it.

Dictionary of Leather-Working Tools, C. 1700-1950: And the Tools of Allied Trades
Excellent source book for information about any tool used in any of the leather working trades in the last 300 years. Accurate pictures of almost all the tools referred to (duplicate tools with different names are cross referenced) and complete descriptions of their design and intended use. If you have an old leather tool that you don't know the use of, this is the book that explains it.
