Review: Really Good Feeling Student Trombone! - My son plays trombone and uses a student Bach. It is beat up but works. I also own an inexpensive Eastrock for myself. I saw this one and figured why not as I also have a Sonicake trumpet and multi effects processor and thought it interesting they made brass instruments. As I got this to be a back up for my son and in case we have to return his Bach, I showed my son the trombone and he was super excited. He loved the case and the fact that this came with gloves (we are fans of Mad Music and love how he always references the white gloves that come with these instruments). I had thought that he case is pretty standard and typical of these kinds of instruments. I personally like hard cases but these serve just as well. I like that the case has little feet to stand up, handles on both the top and side, as well as straps to wear this as a back pack. I also like that there is hook and loop strap that goes over the zipper as well as one for the handles so I feel a little more comfortable knowing should the zipper fail the trombone won’t come flopping out. The case also has another zippered compartment perfect for sheet music. Inside there are also a couple compartments where you could put things like slide cream or your mouth piece. I wish this had a spot dedicated to a mouthpiece like what you see in other instrument cases but not a big deal. This also comes with the cleaning brush so this really is a pretty inclusive kit. The trombone itself is a nice standard lacquered look. It sits in the case disassembled and secure. It is easy to put the slide on and screw it into place and has a lock. I also found the spit valve to feel really good and like the little rubber rest at the bottom of the slide. The slide feels smooth going back and forth, and as my son noted, it was much quieter than the student Bach - and this was without and lubrication and just out of the box. As for sound I thought it was indistinguishable from the Bach and played really nicely. My so. Had begged to bring this to school to show it off! I will say that this surprised me as one would think they would sound far different.
